Let’s draw a lion!
[Sound of Bionic Lion Jump]
Draw an almond shape, then a curved line across the top.
A half circle in the bottom corner.
And a teardrop shape across from that.
Two lashes over here…
One lash over there…
Try to repeat the process on the other eye.
Don’t worry if you make mistakes, you can fix those in coloring.
Two lashes…
Three lashes…
Then the whiskers.
I’m making three per side.
For the nose and mouth area
Draw a hill and put a “V”
with a line through it.
The mouth will curve to the left then to the right!
Then draw those chubby cheeks!!!
Straight line then
BOOM! CHEEKS!
Draw small ears, they’re hard to see in a lion’s mane.
Then go over to the other side…
And draw semi-circles for ears.
Just like you did on the right!
And now we’re coloring with yellow all over! …except for the cheeks where we’ll have
pink later.
Color the entire head yellow.
I take the yellow marker and draw the arms.
Here’s an important lesson: There ARE NO MISTAKES IN ART!
Even though it may look like it at first!
For instance I’m going to make this arm longer later.
But for now just doodle!
DON’T WORRY!
You will figure it out.
You may have something unexpectedly beautiful when you finish!
Now to draw a BIG FAT BELLY!
Draw the lion’s tail wherever you want!
Color most everything yellow!
I put a heart shape on the chest.
Cuteness levels?
…Are RISING!
At this point I knew I wanted to change things.
Remember when I said there are no mistakes in art?
Remember?
Now I’m stretching out the paws.
And on the other side making the arms longer and the paws bigger.
Can you see the change?
You’ll be able to see it now that I’ve outlined in black.
You can darken the nose too!
Then make the mouth area brown.
Here’s the terrifically fun part…
Coloring in the lion’s mane!
I made brown circles around the head.
You can choose any color you like.
Then add swirls here and there.
Don’t be afraid to make the lion’s mane very large!
Even larger than that if possible!
Why not fill up the whole page!
Try it: It’s fun!
And then…
I made his hair yellow.
EVERYWHERE!
Detail that mane with swirls and doodles.
This is important work.
And when you think you might be done…
YOU’RE NOT!
Do some more!
Add different colors the further back you go…
…and larger circles.
Did you miss the tail?
Here it is!
The hairs on the tail will look like a tiki torch
if you're drawing the way I draw.
And add shades of brown.
Brown here Brown there.
Shade the hair any way you like.
I’m bringing out the curls even more.
Then adding some blush to the cheeks
And making those eyes sparkle with green.
IT’S TIME FOR YOUR BEAUTY TREATMENT!
JUST.
GLITTER.
IT.
UP!
Knock-Knock?
Who’s there?
Glitter.
Glitter who?
Too Late! Glitter all over your face!
