>> KATHRYN GAMBLE: When I have a camera in my hand, I have so much more courage. My mode
of shooting something like this story is just shoot, shoot, shoot, just shoot a lot. The
thing about Moab is: It's a little overwhelming because everywhere you look is a cool shot.
Part of me just wanted to keep going and keep going, "Okay, now let's go over here and let's
go over here." It's kind of hard to get a bad shot, [broken up by laughter] honestly,
with scenery like this.
What I needed to do was think about: How was the light on the car? And, also, the composition
of the background. The thing that was great about the Tiguan is that it catches the light
so great. I mean, just beautiful.
[laughter] My assistant would get in the car, and he
would drive and turn, and drive and turn, and I'd say: Yep! Nope! Oh! Go! Wait! Oh,
right there! [laughter]
And then he'd stop, and then he'd have to get the wheels right.
When shooting cars, I love using the car as the frame to the picture because that is how
you see so much scenery. And most of the driving through the canyon shots: I would have to
climb up the canyon in order to get the shot. A couple times I was up pretty high, and then
I'd have to walk out onto something. I told my husband that we have got to go back and
take our boys and spend some time there because it was just amazing and so fun.
