This tutorial will show you how to access the data on your Seagate Central while you
are away from home.
To set up remote access to your Seagate Central device you must provide a valid email address
and password for your Remote Access account.
Once you supply the information and click the Done button, a verification email will
be sent to the email address you provided.
Follow the instruction in the email to activate your Remote Access account.
After your account is activated you will be able to access the data on your Seagate Central
while you are away from home.
To get started, first download and install the Seagate Media app.
You can download the application for Apple iPad, iPhone and iPad Touch from the Apple App store.
If you're using an Android device, download the Seagate Media app from the Google Play
or Android Market place.
After you have installed the Seagate Media app, tap the icon to launch the application.
The first screen you will see is the Video Thumbnail view.
Because you are not yet connected to your Seagate Central device, no content will be available.
To connect to your Central device, first tap on the Settings icon found at the top, right
side of the menu bar.
The Settings menu will then display.
Tap on the Remote Access menu item to continue.
You will be prompted to enter a user name and password.
The User name is the email address you provided during the initial setup of your Seagate Central device.
Enter that address in the User Name text box then enter the password.
After entering your information, tap on the Sign In button.
After you sign in, you will be able to view the content from your Seagate Central device.
