This brief tutorial demonstrates how instructors can remove old courses from their list of
courses in D2L. This is accomplished by using the “Prior Term” role. When the instructor
changes his or her role to “Prior Term,” courses then display in the “My Courses”
widget under “Prior Term” instead of “Instructor.”
Unfortunately D2L does not provide a way to move a group of courses as a batch. You will
have to do this individually.
To remove a course from your list, first—enter the course. Then, select the “Classlist”
link. Find your own name on the Classlist, then select the check the box next to your
name. Scroll to the top or bottom, then click on the Enrollment badge icon. From the “New
Role” menu on the right hand side, select “Prior Term.” Then, click “Save.”
Once the confirmation has been displayed, you can return to the “My Home” page.
Notice that this class no longer appears in the list of courses with the role of “Instructor.”
In order to see old courses, click on the drop-down menu next to “Role” at the top
of the “My Courses” widget, and select “Prior Term.” The page will refresh, and
the older courses will now display.
Simply repeat this enrollment change for any additional courses you want to move to the
“Prior Term” category. Then, return your view to “Instructor” and you will have
a clean course list showing current courses.
