Today we're here at Google,
a fantastic place to share good practice.
We've got 10 schools that are doing some really good anti-bullying work
that we want to see spread across the UK.
Celebrities and role models can play quite a big part
in encouraging others to stand up against bullying.
So I think it's really important they're here today
and it's great to have their support.
I did want to kill myself at school
and when we filmed our documentary about bullying
I met a family whose little boy did kill himself
from being bullied.
So it really is a massive, massive issue
and I think, as Alex said, from the response we had from the TV show,
it was so overwhelming and that's what makes you realise
just how huge an issue it is.
- I'm Twist. - And I'm Pulse.
And together we're t-t-t p-p-p Twist and Pulse.
We're here for the Diana Awards Anti-Bullying Ambassador meeting
and award ceremony
just to greet all the kids that have done amazing in their schools.
So far at the event today we've seen loads and loads of kids.
Basically all of their hard work is paying off.
They've all done their own individual projects
and achieved something big in their school to stop bullying.
We actually visited a school in Dublin...
And they were doing friendship days
where they would hand out a pass to give to someone
that was their friend for the day.
So we went out on the street and met random strangers that walked past
and gave them a daffodil and a friendship pass
and said thank you for being our...
Thank you for being our...
Something like, friendship day... We had a song, a rap.
It was so good.
Oh! Have a nice day on friendship day.
I want every single school to have an ethos of good behaviour
where pupils are kind and respectful to one another.
Not because they fear punishment
but because they know that that's the right way to behave.
That's what happens in the very best schools in this country already.
When I was at school I was very into acting, singing and dancing
so there was a lot of homophobic comments being thrown around
and personally towards me.
But I had great friends around me and great family
and great support which I was lucky enough to have.
So I brushed them comments off at school
and went on to be who I wanted to be.
I still see those people today who called me names and stuff
and it's nice to show them what you can do
and show people if you believe in yourself
and you've got support there for you then you can achieve your dreams
and you can go on to bigger and better things than them.
Today we have seen schools working across the country
all working so hard, all inspirational.
They are brilliant. All have got brilliant ideas.
To see them in action and to be able to take things home
and put them into action in our school is just awesome.
