You'll find you have many choices of inks or writing fluids if you go to the art store,
or even to the stationary store. So I just wanted to mention that there are lots of options
for using a dipped pen. You can use a India type ink, you can use a Sumi type ink, (that's
what I happen to be using today) there are art inks that come in different colors (here's
one here, this ones from, Newton). Higgings is a big company that makes a lot of different
inks, you can use India ink, you can use any ink. I prefer inks that are not waterproof
because they don't dry in the pens, and don't create as much problem with cleaning the pens.
So we're going to be working, I'm going to be working with fluid ink. And I recommend
a black ink rather than a color ink for practicing, because you won't worry about the ink density
as you're writing. And sometimes with the colored inks, you see different amount of
pigment in each stroke. So get yourself some nice ink, and we'll get started.
