Hello my name is Nir from Erlich - Israel's Photography Center
welcome to our Youtube channel - Erlich TV
Today we will be discussing Lilliput's professional monitors.
For DSLR cameras
The DLSR revolution is one of the main changes made in the last decade
The shift began from the Nikon D90
and right after that the canon 5Dmark 2 that paved the way for all the rest
One of the challenges we are facing with when shooting video is sharpness
we are all faced at least once with the problem of focusing when shooting video
the problem is that once we see that it might be too late
The camera's screens have improved a lot in the past few years
but most of the screens are still between 3 and 3.5 inch
that is just too small to get the perfect focus
One of the ways avoiding that is using an external monitor
a screen that receives the output straight from the camera by a cable
With DSLR it’s the HDMI cable
and in most standard video cameras it could also be a BNC cable.
There are a few more advantages for working with an external monitor
the first is composition
on a bigger screen it's easier to notice everything that's happening in out frame and to notice all of the details.
The second one is comfort while working and shooting
when working with sliders tripods and other support accessories
we can adjust the viewing angle straight to us with no effort
and beyond that when shooting a big production besides the cameraman
everyone in the crew can also see the frame and give their input on the shot
The lilput monitors usually comes with a bright 7 inch screen
screen that supports a resolution of up to 1080i
a multiple selection of different connectors to fit different cameras
,and a vast selection of characteristics that are adjustable to fit every photographers needs
Mainly the peaking option
that allows us a perfect outline on the focusing area
and prevents us from seeing the mistake only in the editing room
