We are with Skoda Yeti.
Yeti attained new look by a facelift thereby obtaining modern and similar look as the other models of the family.
But if you ask me due to the round fog lamps of the predecessor the Yeti was different and charismatic car.
But certainly it is very handsome like this too.
The new Skoda logo, headlamps with daytime running LED's and safety bar underside are the main details of the Yeti's front.
There are not very big differences at the Yeti's rear.
The main differences are; first the taillights with LED's
and secondly a line drawn to facilitate movement instead of tailgate that was flat and course in the previous generation.
Behind the tailgate 418 liter loading capacity is offered, same as before.
And as always it has enough volume to take our filming equipment.
The Yeti is successful in practicality and variability too.
You can lay down the rear seats like this, and make it so to increase the boot capacity.
If you wish you can take out the seats and carry cargo with the Yeti but for this your condition should be quite good.
The knee room at the rear seats is very good; there is almost a hand span here.
The headroom is not bad and due to the panoramic sunroof the interior is very light.
The interior of the Yeti is wide.
And we are facing a cockpit where in general terms there is no control crowd and it is installed on simplicity.
You can control the music from the touchscreen. Underneath that there are the simple control buttons of the dual zone A/C.
It has material quality that we are accustomed from the VW.
Above soft plastic material is used, below and on the door panels harder plastic is used.
I think it is reasonable because when you look generally the cabin is pleasing to the eye.
The new three-spoke steering wheel is another novelty of the Yeti.
It pleases the eye and it is good in your hands and for me it is successful in the matter of guidance.
Keyless entry and start system is offered as standard on the Elegance spec that I drove.
This system usually takes part on the chest but out of the ordinary it is on the steering column in the Yeti.
At first you have difficulty to get used to it. But within a very short time there is no trouble and you use it easily.
And you even enjoy not taking the key out of your pocket.
The seats are comfortable, due to the large windows the visibility is good and the interior is spacious.
With the facelift automatic gearbox is added to the Yeti's 1.6-liter diesel engine.
This has been awaited for a long time and it was desired.
Therefore the Skoda's Turkish Officials has put pressure to the firm and almost only for the Turkish Market
or in fact especially for the Turkish Market, they started to manufacture this engine and gearbox combination.
The 1.6-liter diesel engine is familiar to us from the VW Group.
It develops 105 HP and 250 Nm of torque.
It is not pretentious about performance but it meets the expectations.
What it is pretentious about to me is fuel consumption.
The manufacturers state that it consumes on average 5,0 liters/100 km of fuel.
I have been driving this car for a week and have covered a distance of 350 km approximately.
The trip computer shows me now 5,7 liters average fuel consumption.
It was 5,5 liters actually up to a very near time but because I have spent a lot of time in town the consumption increased.
But if you are going to drive this car in the motorways instead of in the town I can tell you that the fuel consumption will definitely be lower.
The suspensions of the Yeti with high ground clearance has been sat a bit firm.
But still there is no trouble even on the Istanbul's rough road conditions.
Similarly its handling to me is successful too.
The Skoda Yeti that offers VW comfort and quality with 1.6 TDI engine and new DSG gearbox is much more pretentious.
In this pretention the new and handsome look has a share too.
When we come to the price it is relatively high. But if your budget allows it I can tell you that the Skoda Yeti is a good choice.
See you...
