What we really want for them is to be successful and a job is a place where you can be successful and once a child experiences success in that area
they're more likely to go on to other parts of life perhaps school, with their friends and experience success there as well
I wasn't as confident when I first started. I was unsure about whether I was going to do good or not
and I wasn't sure if the kids were going to like me. But now, it's a lot of fun.
When I took these girls on, I realized that they are just good people
They needed a welcoming place and they needed to feel connected to our community and when that happened, then they were able to do more.
When you give a kid a job and you put that first paycheck in their hand
the attitude, the swagger, everything that develops and grows from that opportunity
is what I see on a regular basis and I think that's one of the reasons I love this work so much.

Today, I'm somewhere in life where I'd never thought I'd be. Happy and kinda doing what I love.
Chris has come in and progressed rapidly into learning and helping us out.
We'd like to have him come by and maybe interview us for a job when he gets out of school.
Without this program, I probably wouldn't be here today, I wouldn't have as much confidence as I do now.
It helped me realize a lot of things I couldn't do before. I feel like I can do whatever I want, you know, just because I can.
