In this tutorial we will cover how students submit
view feedback for and download feedback for Turnitin assignments
to submit a Turnitin assignment go you to the content area in blackboard
where your instructor has posted a turnitin
assignment for you to complete
turnitin assignments are indicated by this icon
click on the view complete link
you may encounter a message that asks you to accept the Turner then license agreement
if you see that screen click accept
the now we're simply going to click on the blue submit button
you can see that my name has been automatically entered for me I'm going to enter a file name
and click on the choose file button to upload a word WordPerfect PDF HTML rich text or
open office document. I'm
simply going to choose my file click open
and choose upload
now my file is uploaded. Turnitin is processing the file. On the next screen it shows me a preview of the text that's been uploaded. if
that's not correct I can click on return to upload page and submit the file again
this looks correct, so I'll click Submit.
turnitin processes the submission and then shows the what the paper will look like
they can scroll down and see all of my
text
then I can click on go to portfolio
and it takes me back to the screen where I had initially submit in my work
on that screen I can see that my similarity reports and index is at 100% which means my paper has been of found to be consistent
at 100% with other works in the turnitin database
I can click on view
to view my paper. It will open in a new window
I can also download my paper by clicking on the down arrow button
when the instructor lets me know that my paper has been graded I simply go back to the
same drop box where I submitted the paper previously
click on the view complete link
and then click on the view link
on this screen, I'll be able to see wear my instructor left comments
from the little colored indicators that are blue and purple. If I hover over those indicators I can
see comments that were typed. Some of them have links to additional information
the similarity index (100% similar) appears in the top bar and my grade of 56 out of 100 also appears in the top bar
comments on the entire paper, whether they are audio comments or written comments, appear in the right hand pane
If I click on the center button on the right hand pane I can view the comments
by page
so page one has all of those comments
and if my instructor chose to user rubric in Turnitin that appears when you click on the third button
and I can see that I got three out of five for grammar and how I did on tone and other portions of the paper
if I want to download these comments, I simply click on the printer icon in the lower left corner
that gives me two choices. the first choice is to download of a PDF of the current view for printing
that will give me all my instructors comments and let me have a copy of those
I will click on that
and it generates a PF for me to use
and I can choose to keep are discard it.
and then I have a PDF saved my computer
for the turnitin assignment. To leave this window simply click on the X
and it takes you back to blackboard
