Daddy Endorsed
Here to make Dad's life easier
and one of those ways that we are going to do that
is talk about things that freaked me out when bringing baby home for the first time.
So hopefully you will have a better experience than I did.
So, the first thing that really freaked me out in bringing baby home for the first time
is that car ride home from the hospital.
Here you had this incredible incredible experience, and now you have to strap baby into the car seat
and drive home
and you have this precious cargo in the back
and all these things are running through your head
do you have the house prepared? Child proofed?
are you really going to lose a lot of sleep?
the answer is YES
but all of these things are running through your mind
but at the end of the day you are going to be ok
I went through it...I was freaked out...your going to be the same way
but your going to be ok
the second thing
so your going to have baby home...that first night, that second night, the third night...
this happened to me for the first week
is the baby breathing?
they sleep so silently
unlike your wife next to you, who might be a snorer
and there so so quiet, so your going to go ninja stealth-style from your bed position to the bassinet
and your going to listen
and your not going to see anything...no movement, no nothing
and if your like me, your going to go ahead and do that little shake
hopefully not wake up baby
and see if their still breathing
and you know what? They are still breathing. You have nothing to worry about
Its going to freak you out, but you are going to be ok
and then the last thing..the last thing on there
is the first time Mom leaves and they have that complete meltdown
so you have to remember to yourself
what are those things that Mom did that soothed baby?
what are those things that you did that soothed baby when you were together?
But, now Mom leaves for the first time, they have that meltdown.
Just go back, remember those things that soothed baby
Try something different things...flip on the TV...flip on an appliance
That always worked with my daughter
so try these things different things, your going to be fine
your going to freak out, but your going to be fine
So, I want to hear from all of you
What are those things that freaked you out?
Tell us your stories
Or if you have tips or tricks for Dads
Especially the new Dads
that will help them through this
