Hey, everybody. Welcome to the 2012 Bassmaster Classic. At the end of the first day,
I'm in fourth place. I spent all my practice in pool four and five. I really wanted
to eliminate the lock deal because it does eat up some of your time.
So, for me, I ended up spending today in Pool 4
because you can't jump around here a lot. It's a long run. You go through locks.
You spend a lot of your time.
But that's one good thing about having that Evinrude.
I did win the boat race on the way down there. So that made it really cool.
This is about my fourth tournament I've had here on the Red River.
That's over a span of about 10-12 years. It's changed quite a bit from my first time here.
The first time I was here, all this timber that's broke off
right at the water level ,
used to be standing up, so it was really difficult to get through.
This is the kind of place that's really gonna test your equipment, and i mean everything
from the trolling motor and the bottom of your boat and your props.
You know, running down through this stuff, impact is gonna happen.
It's not a matter of if, but when.
And so to have some quality equipment, something that's gonna get you from
Point A to Point B as fast as you can -- because like I said, time management is important here--
having that E-TEC behind me, pushing me down the river, first to the fishing hole, is really valuable.
>>David Walker!
>>He finds himself in his 7th Bassmaster Classic, and he is ready to make his mark.
5 fish for David Walker. When it rains, it pours.
The last couple of anglers came in big, and David Walker keeps the tradition going, ladies and gentlemen.
To me, the pressure of fishing the Classic isn't all that great.
I mean, I actually enjoy the pressure of fishing the Classic.
So I don't let it get to me.
It's another tournament, so while I'm out there, it's just me against the fish.
>>16 lbs, 8 oz! Moves him to 3rd place!
Well, the good news is the weathermen are much better at reporting than predicting,
so we'll see how it shakes out tomorrow. But for me, I'm going tomorrow.
I don't care how cold it is. So we're gonna go out there and see what happens with the fish.
Obviously, I can make a prediction that if it gets colder, I'll do this or that.
That's one thing I've found about chasing these little green fish,
a lot of times, they don't do what I think they're gonna do.
For me, this is a great time of the year for me. I mean, I love fishing this time of year. The water is muddy.
The water is cold. And we are in pre-spawn conditions. So, for me, I like that.
That's one positive for me. So I'm not letting that bother me.
Some of the guys are mad about it -- they'd rather it this, or they'd rather see it that.
I think it's perfect.
So tomorrow, if you want to check out what's going on, be sure to check it out on Evinrude E-NATION.
