Negotiators in U.S. Congress have reached an budget agreement that could, if passed
by the House and Senate, remove the threat of another government shutdown come January
when government funding is expected to run out.
The bipartisan deal will raise military and domestic spending and replace unpopular spending
cuts with other savings,... over the next two years.
The deal is already being met with great opposition by conservative groups who see the deal as
a retreat from earlier spending cuts. Democrats have hailed the deal, calling it
a turning point in the spending wars that have dominated the capital after the Republicans
took control of the House back in 2011.
