On September 11th, 2012
throughout Major League Baseball, tribute was
paid to those who lost their lives
in the attacks of September 11th, 2001
particularly to emergency services workers
who responded to help those in need.
Prior to the start of the game between
the Toronto Blue Jays and the Seattle Mariners,
the Colour Guards of Toronto Emergency Medical Services
and Toronto Police service
marched in the flags of both Canada and
the United States of America.
Toronto Fire Services Acting Division Commander
Len Stadler threw out the first pitch
of the game while Captain Damien Walsh
sang both the US and
Canadian National Anthems.
