The birds are wild animals most familiar to most people.
Argentina has a lot of different landscapes, environments and this diversity is reflected
in a great diversity of birds.
Of the approximately 1000 species that inhabit the Argentine territory, 28% have some degree
of threat to their survival:
Our project seeks to raise awareness about the threats to these species constitute a
natural heritage of our region.
Following the slogan that "you only cares what you know", we aim to raise awareness
of threatened bird species in Argentina, as well as also various aspects of their biology
and ecology.
For this we are conducting a survey of these species, through videos, photographs, sound
recordings and information provided by scientists who are studying them to generate records
of each species.
These records will be available on an Internet portal for the general public, especially
for educational institutions, bird watchers and nature lovers, which may make free use
of the material (if not used for commercial purposes)
For collaborators have devised a system of rewards ranging from accommodation at the
Posada Cobodemar in the vicinity of the Albufera of Mar Chiquita, guided tours of birdwatching,
birdwaching offshore pelagic, photography and video courses aimed at birders, and many
more.
This project articulates with 1000 Birds TV program we are doing (see Facebook.com/1000aves,
www.plazacobo.com.ar).Our experience tells us that on every trip, we´ll bringing information
of endangered species and other birds that will help completing the map of Argentinian birds
and will become part of the contents of both projects.
