R: What does performing at Pride in Stockholm today mean to you?
AR: Ehm! It's very "second nature" to me,
perform --- It's just the same ---
gay people are now in the modern time just as accepted as... Russians.
For me audience is audience. And if there still is some repression in Sweden,
you have to fight for it.
Against that, I ment.
R: What does "pride" mean to you?
AR: For me – you mean to be proud?
It's --- You have to be proud. To be honest,
I like to know that I’m pride inside me, but not to show it too much. R. Okay AR: No
R: But why not show pride? Is it something positive?
AR: Yes, yes, but rather see to that other people are proud of what I do, on my behalf.
I do not want to show too much pride myself, because it seems that people are so fond of that.
But what you have to do is to show that you are proud of others.
That's the thing with pride. One should not walk around proud as a ***, right?
AR: Because that time is over. Now all people --- now it is freedom in a way, so now you have to be a bit humble too, right?
But it's fun to be proud on others' behalf. That’s the point of it.
R: Okay. I've never been to Norway, but I'm going there for sure. AR: Yes, you have to. Especially next year.
R: Of course. I need to see the Norwegian fjords, and I have to see you perform on stage. How gay friendly is Norway?
AR: What did you say? R: How gay friendly is Norway?
AR: It is as gay friendly as Sweden. But we don’t have as huge support for concerts like this.
In a way -- In Norway, it becomes kind of --- you have kind of musical thing, but it is more a demonstration.
And it has been a tradition for many years, and since it is now not much more to demonstrate against, in Norway gay people are accepted, and then the demonstration is not that important, right?
So it is less people each year. But here in Sweden it is a musical party. And it just get bigger and bigger. So I hoped they switch it a little in Norway too.
R: This year the theme is straight at our Pride here in Sweden. On a scale of 1 to 10, how straight are you Alexander Rybak?
AR: You have to take and multiply all the girls you have flirted with, those you really have had a crush on.
And then all the boys you have flirted with.
And then there are reportedly many, many more girls.
R: But a number. 10 is very straight and 1 is not straight at all.
AR: But if you really like gay people? Are you just as hetero then?
R: Yes, you are AR: Yes, then I am 10
R: Then you're 10. Thank you very much Alexander. Have a great evening.
AR.: Thank you R. Thank you so much
