hello this is paul kempler with kempler design
I want to show you today something that has to do with roman shades
specifically
and that is a feature that is called
cords forward
traditional roman shades come in a lot of different ways
but what we're talking about today specifically the court placement if we
take a look at this roman shade
very
are normal in the way that it stacks
uh... all the normal roman shade type things, but what we're focused on right
now is the cord. You'll notice that the cord is hanging
on the front. The reason for that is that when we work it,
we can do everything right off the front of the shade
instead of
uh... reaching around
behind the back of the shade and getting this material dirty
or wrinkled so we put that on the front and then that requires of course we put
a valance
over the top
but it makes a lot easier to work
locked to the side
and have a functional roman shade so
uh... if you are looking to do roman shades you have to consider seriously whether or
not you want to do cords forward or whether you want the cords in the back if
it's an inside mount
if the shade is mounted inside the window and you put the cord behind the shade you
might have a very difficult time reaching the cords.
thank you for watching the kempler design video blog
