In this video
we are going to create an airplane
Before starting
we are going to import a reference image.
To do so, go to the menu,
select "file"
and then "import".
Let's reduce the size of the canvas
to see the original size of the image.
We use the Scale tool
to reduce the size of the image.
Select the tool,
select the green handle
and move one of them
until you get the desired size.
We can now increase the size of the canvas.
Let's hide the background
we created in the previous video.
Select the image.
Then, select the SPline tool
review the tool parameters,
and choose a color.
We are going to draw the left wing first.
To draw with this tool
we have to place the vertices
with a click on the mouse.
To create a curve
we move the mouse
while we keep pressing the left button of the mouse.
When the figure is ready,
we click
on the Transform tool
and synfig will create the image.
Let's group the layers
and call them left wing.
Following the same process,
we draw the body of the airplane.
Once the figure is created
we can modify it
using the red handles
to move the vertices
or the yellow handles
to modify the curve
or the direction of the line.
As the body
is hiding the reference image
let's hide it
while we draw the right wing.
We use the same process
for the right wing.
This time we use the button
"Make Spline"
to create the figure.
Finally, we draw the window.
We are going to use white color this time.
With the browser
We zoom in
to work on the window easily.
Finally we group the layers
that made up the airplane.
Rename this group:
airplane
Now we can hide the reference image
as we don't longer need it
and bring back the background.
The airplane is too big.
So, let's select it
and look for the Zoom parameter
in the Parameter window
We change the value to -1
Finally, we move the airplane
using the green handles.
