Hello Everyone!
Yestarday postman bring me a little parcel
from Wild Stoves UK company .
Lets see what is inside:
...love letter...
Two business cards...
....and a stove packaged in box made of recycled paper.
It is wood stove.
Inside the box we have leaflet
Welcome...
Assembling manual
How to make a fire
FAQ
Safety
And scientific background.
Very impressive :-)
Polyamide bag
And at last - the stove.
It is collapsible wood stove
with wood gasification ability.
It is not ordinary hobo-stove
for sticks and cones
This one is based on advanced technology ;-)
This stove is collapsible
So we can fold it into 6 cm high package
Before usage we have to assemble it.
I do it for the first time
but it seems to be quite simple
I have not time to play with this little hooks now.
And we have ready to use stove
here we have stand for a pot
and air inlets
hare is grate and here wood can burn
and higher the stove has double walls
Air gets higher,
becomes hot and
through these jets air gets to a chamber
so wood burns at the bottom of the chamber and
wood gas burns at the top.
Outside it is rainy today
therefore today we will only look at it and
of course we will weight it
As you see here every stove is signed with 'Wild stoves' emblem
and serial number. This one is #8081.
Let's see how much it weighs.
I'm sorry, something went wrong...
I received false result so
let's try to use scale support.
Now it shows correct value
stove weight is 275.7 grams
and 290.4 grams with polyamide bag.
It is not too much.
Of course we can made lighter wood stove from a big can
and such stove will weight about 100 grams
however wild stove construction is interesting as
due to wood gasification process
we have cleaner and more intensive/hotter fire
less smoke, faster boiling
and less unburned residues
All of these in therory would help us
with more efficient use of environmentally friendly fuel
That is all for today.
I will wait with field tests for better weather conditions
Thank you for watching. Good bye!
