Hey, this is the Olympus Stylus 1050 SW Camera and it's pretty cool actually.
It's shockproof up to about 5 feet. Waterproof up to 10 feet and it will basically
be able to work for you in any situation and if you're an extreme sports person or
you're one of these people that likes to ski, or if you're one of these people,
who likes to scuba dive or if you're a snorkler, this is going to be a great camera for you,
because not only is it waterproof and also shockproof, it has a couple of features
built into it, to make it really really easy to use in situations when you're wearing gloves
like if you're a snow boarder or a skiier or if you're wearing gloves under water.
This can actually make it, real real simple to take some pictures.
So let me tell you a little bit about it. It's a 10.1 Megapixel Camera, so it has
extraordinary resolution on it. It's got 3 x Optical Zoom and a 5 x Digital Zoom
Those can combine to 15 x. So you've got a lot of range on this thing,
in terms of getting around and getting good pictures.
It also has a 2.7" LCD on the back of it. Very nice, very very bright LCD on this thing and
like I said, shockproof up to 5 feet so it can take a serious beating and is
waterproof up to 10 feet, so you can go down decently deep with this camera and
get some really really great shots with it. Now, I was telling you that this is good to use if
you are say a snow boarder or you're somebody out there doing stuff,
wearing gloves alot and I'll show you why. It's got this cool feature called,
Tap Control too. Now this is just like I said, great if you're wearing
gloves in situations so you can't navigate these menus.
You can actually simply tap it twice, and you can turn on the tap control.
Now, tap control means you'll be able to navigate through the
various menus inside of this thing, like turning on your flash and
cycling through which flashes you'd like to use.
Now of course, you're only gonna cycle if there's some really basic functions,
because really you're not gonna wanna navigate through
serious stuff when you're wearing gloves. You'll try to do this quick, anyway.
But, it does allow you to move through various options, change up your settings,
In fact you can very easily tap the front and
it will take you into the play mode.
Now, it doesn't have any pictures on it right now,
so it's not going to show you any pictures.
But, if there are pictures in it, just tapping the screen,
will allow you to browse through, all of your photos that you have taken.
So, this is an extreme camera dude! Extraordinarily extreme in fact.
So, XX has some features to make it very very easy to set up your photos.
Now, Olympus of course, is very very well known,
for making their cameras very very easy to use.
Now this camera does have a full video mode.
Now the video mode does 640 x 480, up to 30 fps and
takes very very sharp looking video actually. Now it also has a
digital image stabilization, built right into it and
you can turn that on quickly via the wheel.
And it also has a number of different scene modes.
It even gives you examples of exactly what those scenes would be
and how those pictures would look and what situations are best,
for the various scene modes, built into the camera, which
make it very very easy to take really really great pictures,
without really having any idea, of what you are doing.
And it also has the guide mode and the shooting guide will allow you
to sort of trouble shoot bad photographs.
So if you take a bad photo that has some artifacts in it that you dont like,
or if you're in a situation where you don't know exactly how to shoot,
like this, shooting a subject in motion, it will actually
walk you through, taking the best photo and make it really really easy to do so.
And make it very very easy to take really really good pictures.
It also has some more advanced menus built in to it.
Now this actually needs to be in automode to see those.
Now, once we get into automode, you can see that,
there are various menus, that you can get to,
to adjust your resolution, for the photographs.
Your flash, your aperture, all that stuff is built in right here.
And then also in this camera, hold on one second here,
you have, sorry I'm spinning wheels, very rude to spin the wheel
right in front of you, I know, but I have no choice.
As you can see in here, you can also get to all of your
more advanced menus your camera set up, your digitalization set up,
your different scenes. It also has a panorama mode built into it,
so you can take panoramic pictures and stitch them together.
Let's take a quick look around the Olympus Stylus 1050SW.
It does have a sliding protector for your lens and for your flash upfront.
It also powers the camera on, when you slide that thing down.
Very good for protecting it while your enroute, wherever you are going.
On the top, you've got your power button and a very nice larger shutter button,
and this is going to be good if you're wearing gloves.
You're in a position where you're actually going to use that tap feature,
to take your pictures. Very easy to get to that button right here.
Now, over on the side is where one of our hatches is.
These are of course, waterproof and if you're going to take it into the water,
please be sure that these hatches are closed, because otherwise,
you're really going to be kinda screwed.
But that right there is a proprietary connector.
It's going to go to USB. It does come with the cable,
The connector also doubles as a charging connector as well.
But it does come with a USB cable so you can hook that up to your computer,
without any troubles. On the side, this is where you are going to find
your microphone, that's for, if you're recording movies,
You can see right there, it does record audio as well.
On the bottom, that's where your other hatch is located.
Now, if you open this up, this is where you're going to find your XD Slot.
Now, it does take XD cards, not SD cards. If you have a micro SD card,
it will also take that. It comes with an adaptor so that you can,
use a micro SD card as well with this camera. So, if you have SD cards, you can't use them
If you have micro SD cards, you can. And if you have XD cards,
you can also use those as well. This is also where the battery goes.
There's a rechargeable battery and it does come with a separate battery charger,
so you can keep your batteries nice and charged up.
And that's going to go in there. On the back, is where all of the buttons are
and as you can see, it's telling me to please don't go in the water,
when this thing is open. Which is good advice because if you go into the water
with those things open, you're camera's done, no matter
how waterproof it is. Up here, this is your rocker switch
to get to your telephoto wide angle zoom. The notorious wheel,
to get to all your quick functions. And all of your various navigation buttons
are found right here. Very easy to get to when you're holding the camera.
Everything is located in one place, so it makes very very simple
to navigate through this camera. It also has various display modes,
so that you can line your shots up. Get things looking nice and even
a built in Histogram, right there, for all you pros out there.
You can immediately and in real time see the histogram on screen,
on this camera which is kinda cool, especially if you're in odd situations
with really bright blown out areas. You can just see exactly what's going on.
So, while it's a basic camera and easy to take pictures with,
it also has a lot of really really advanced functions that
you are not going to find in pretty much any other camera that's out there.
Overall it has all of the basic features you're going to expect in,
an Olympus camera like this, but it also has all those extra features that
make it all kinds of extra cool. Like, you know of course the fact that
you can throw it into 10 feet of water, throw it up against the wall and
it's still gonna work, it keeps on ticking, no matter what you do to it.
So this is like a great camera to have with you when
you're out there on the slopes, if you're scuba diving,
and really any sort of situation, where other cameras,
wouldn't be able to hold up, this one's going to.
It's a tank and it's going to shoot really really great shots as well.
And it's all in a very compact little package.
Very very slim camera, this thing and very very easy to carry around.
It's available in a number of colors as well.
You get the blue, silver, black, and so it will fit any taste.
And also, like I said, takes really great pictures.
And it's fun to have a camera that you know you can take into the water with you
or throw into the floor. Or if you drop it, it won't stop working.
So go check it out. The Olympus Stylus 1050SW.
It's available, go buy one, especially if need a waterproof camera.
Because this is it. This waterproof, shockproof,
brute of a camera, the Olympus Stylus 1050SW,
