3rd March against the police brutality and for the disassemble of ESMAD
Medellin 24th of February 2013
From here and from all over the world we should say
"No" to the National Police!
No more killing from the hands of the police
We want the disassemble of this group of murderers called ESMAD
who committed so many murders in this country
No more ESMAD! No more National Police!
That's why we came here, For a carnival of life!
We're marching against the police brutality
and for the disassemble of ESMAD (the anti-riot police)
which was formed few years ago during the Alvaro Uribe government
and today we're saying
that we don't agree with the presence of the anti-riot police
So today we're on a march, a carnival and a party
inviting all the youth, children and adults
who would like to join this day of statement,
to say that we don't want the war, nor the police brutality.
What we want is life, joy and happiness.
"Damned is the soldier who raises his weapon against his people"
the ESMAD is fully authorized to enter the public universities here in Medellin
Every time there is a student manifestation
they enter the university
and capture and pursue the students,
so we're being constantly being pursued by them.
Also when there is an eviction order in one of the peripheral areas of the city
or when there are marches, they're always there
like they would have to be alert of the manifestation
always like some kind of bodyguards behind the people
because all of us these days are terrorist of some sort
if we march or are out on the street or simply for
being the youth, were always being pursued by them.
The ESMAD (colombian anti-riot police) was founded on February 24th, 1999.
Since its creation it has committed thousands of abuses
of excessive use of force and power,
or the use of non-conventional weapons, including murders.
All of those remain in total impunity.
Since 3 years in the cities of Bogota and Medellin have been organized
marches and events against the police brutality and
in commemoration of the victims murdered by the police.
Big thank you to the Medellin activists and Yuri
