Welcome to Revelation Lesson 19 where we’re starting in chapter 19. This is about two
geneses. One is a marriage feast of the bride which is us that have been ruptured, and the
other is a feast of God with the birds of the Megiddo it’s a short chapter. And we
want it to be opposite because we’re going through many chapters of trials and tribulations.
And at the end we find out that life is just a catastrophe and Jesus is the only answer.
At this point, the tribulation period is over. God pours out His wrath on the Christ rejecting
world. In Chapters 4 and 5, the churches tucked away in heaven. In chapter 6 through 19, we
have all the judgments. Babylon is totally destroyed. Both the false religious system
runs by the false prophet, and the world dictator in Europe. And the dragon, the devil.
And Babylon, the economic city is also destroyed in one hour. Revelation 19, after this I heard,
what sounded like a roar of a great multitude in heaven shouting, ‘Halleluiah! Salvation
and glory and power belong to our God for true and just in all His judgments. He has
condemned the great *** who corrupted the earth by her adulteries. He has avenged
on her the blood of the servants. And again, they shouted, Halleluiah! The smoke goes up
from her forever and ever. The 24 elders in the four living creatures fell down and worshipped
God who was seated on the throne. And they cried, ‘Amen. Halleluiah’
And through all these judgments, there are still people on earth and they’re crying
and lamenting over the destruction of Babylon. But in heaven, we’re rejoicing saying, “Halleluiah!
Praise the Lord,” and “Amen,” which means, so be it. These two words are universally
known in every language. I remember early in my Christian life, we’re going down Haiti
and I was trying to prepare songs and hashing. Well, it turned out the best songs were those
that were just the halleluiahs and the amens because everyone understands that. And God’s
fairness is always challenged by Satan for we have all these destruction. People say
what about people that haven’t heard of Christ? What about little babies? All I know
is that God is going to be fair and just.
We ask, “Why do bad things happen?” You notice there’s no questioning in heaven?
Not because we’re not allowed, but we see the whole picture. Then we’re going to go,
“Oh, now I understand.” But now here, He teaches us by walking by faith. He is forcing
us to prepare ourselves for heaven. And we’re going to say, “Thank you, Lord.” We focus
on the now. And we must go back to the cross. And that Jesus died for me. He prepares us
much like an athlete may be pushed by a coach to do his best. They don’t understand it.
But when they get in the game, the realize that all that training kicks in.
And we, with Jesus, had to continually put our life in His hands. John 4:24, God is a
Spirit. And that they worship Him, must worship Him in Spirit and in truth. And these 44 elders
that say, “Amen,” to show Him their maturity, they’re showing, “Yes, It is righteous
and true.” And if you’re suffering now, and you trust in the Lord and praising Him
and saying, “Amen,” you could tell that you’ve matured. Verses 5, then the voice
come from the throne saying, ‘Praise our God all you His servants who fear Him, both
small and great.’ Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing
waters. And like the loud peals of thunder shouting, ‘Halleluiah!’ for our Lord God
Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory for the weighing of the
lamb has come. And His bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright clean was given
her to wear. The fine linen stands for the righteous acts of the saints.
On this verse, we are the rushing waters and peals of thunder as millions of Christians
praise God together. And how do we make ourselves ready that says the fine linen stands for
the righteousness of the acts of the saints? And what act is that? It’s not what we do
for Christ. It’s by believing on Him who the Father sent. And believing and accepting
His salvation. In Isaiah 61:10, it says, I delight greatly in the Lord, my soul rejoices
in my God for He has clothe me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness,
as a bridegroom adorned his head like a priest, and as a bride adorn to herself with her jewels.
The garment of righteous are put on us by Jesus but is paid for by His blood. Isaiah
64:6, all of us had become like one who is unclean. And all of our righteous acts are
like filthy rags. We all shrivel up like a leaf and like the wind our sins sweep us away.
Verse 9, then the angel said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are invited to the
wedding supper of the Lamb!'" And he added, "These are the true words of God. True words,
Pilot asked Jesus word is truth.” Today in the world people want to know what is truth.
And God took great pain to protect the innocence of Jesus Chris at the crucifixion. In Matthew
27:4, it says Judas returned the money to the priest saying, I have betrayed innocent
blood. And Luke 23:14, Pilate said, “I find no fault in Him. I had examined Him, and I
find no fault in Him.” The thief said, in Luke 23:41, we are here because we deserve
to be here. But this man has done nothing wrong. God is making sure that you know that
Jesus is innocent as he hangs on the cross. It is not for His crime or guilt. But it is
for you and your sin that He is dying. At this, I felt on my feet to worship Him. But
He said to me, “Do not do it. I am a fellow servant with you, with your brothers who hold
to the testimony of Jesus, worship God for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
John is just so blown away. What this angel is showing him, he falls to worship. But in
Colossians 2:18, it says, do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship
of angels disqualifying you for the price. Such a person goes into great detail about
what they have seen. And their unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions. This
is saying not to worship angels and the Mormons and Jehovah witness worship angels have both
founders of these religions or cults, say that they receive revelation from angels.
Verse 11, I saw the heaven standing to open. And there before me was a white horse whose
rider was called faithful and true. With justice He judges and rids war. The door is open;
this is the second time it opened. The first time is in chapter 4 when the church goes
out. The second time, Jesus is coming back with us. His eyes like blazing fire. At the
judgment is either priced, all of our wood, and hay and stubble is going to have to disappear.
All the things that we do with unright motives. He knows. And with one look, all that excessive
baggage and memories are just going to burn away.
When we do works for God, he knows our motivation. And when he looks at us with His eyes of fire,
all the bad stuff will burn away. But He’ll squeeze out what was good. Now when I look
back from my Christian life, I know there are things that I did serve in God, but the
motivation was wrong. And He knows that and I know that. He’s going to take the good
and He’s going to get the rest away. It’s around new years and a lot of us have another
extra fat. And we want to get rid of it. So think of it that way that you want to lose
those 20 pounds or 30 pounds or 50 pounds. Just in one look, it was all gone and melted
away. And how great you would feel right? And that’s how it’s going to be. And on
His head are many crowns. He has a name written on Him that no one knows but Himself. There
are many crowns. There’s a name that only he knows. Verse 13, He is dressed in a robe,
dipped in the blood and is named the word of God. Jesus is covered in blood. Although
He’s a sinless, like pure as a ***. It is His blood that makes us clean.
Now when He comes back on the white horse where behind Him in white linen, but we’re
not going to fight. We’re just here to witness the battle– and in verse 14, the armies
of heavens were following Him riding on a white horse and dressed in fine linen white
and clean. Out of His mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down a nation.
Whatever this word is, it’s just like when God created the world, he spoke it by His
mouth, let there be light, let there be animals. And by His mouth, his armies will be slain.
He will rule them with an Iron scepter. He treads on the winepress of fury of the wrath
of the God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written:
King of kings and lord of lords why is there blood on His robe that used to be that they
put grapes in the big bath and the way they crush them with their feet. The juice would
come out. And the wine that actually with your feet pressing down, you can imagine what
your clothes looked like.
In Isaiah 63:3-4 it says, why are you read in your apparel? And your garments like the
ones that have been treading on a wine bed. He answered, “I have trodden the wine press
alone. In all the people, there was none with me for I will tread them in my anger and trample
them in my fury. And the blood shall sprinkle upon my garments. And I will stain all my
raiment for that they have vengeance as in heart and the year of my redeemed is coming.
And this prophecy is talking that Jesus comes back, and He’s going to protect us from
the blood. Verse 17, and I saw an angel standing in the sun who cried in a loud voice threw
all the words in mid air, “Come gather together for the great supper of God so that you may
eat of the flesh of kings and generals and mighty men of horses and their riders, the
flesh of all people, free, and slave, small and great. Now previously we talked about
all these nations that are going to gather in Megiddo and these three frogs like spirits
go out to the east and south and north kind of whisper in the ear, “Go to Megiddo, go
to Megiddo.” Which we know is Armageddon, the north and the south, the African and Arab
states will come.
The 200 million in the east will all come to this one valley to fight against each other.
And just about when they’re about to fight, they look and they turn their weapons and
they unite against the Lord. And this is what Satan wanted because he knew the Lord was
coming. And whatever they are will have no effect on the Lord. Then I saw the beast and
the kings of the earth and the armies gather together to make a war against each other
on the horse of his army. But the beast was captured. And with him, the false prophet
who had performed miraculous signs on his behalf... With these signs he had deluded
those who received the mark of the beast and worshipped his image. The two of them were
thrown alive into the fire of lake of burning sulfur. Anti Chris and false prophet are the
first to go into the lake of fire or also known as gahanna and the rest will be killed
by the words in the mouth and hell, Gahanna, and the abuso and what the differences are.
Verse 21 and the rest of them were killed with the sword that came out in the mouth
of the rider on the horse. And all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh. And that’s
it. One word, it’s over, why is it so short. John is writing as a pastor. And there is
heat going through tribulation. And life is a catastrophe, it’s brutal and it’s messy.
You think, “We’ll and I want to get here, it’s going to be an easy street,” or “When
I retire, then it’s – all will be good.” But there’s something always right around
the corner that shakes you or hits you. It’s never going to be easy. And the only time
it will be is when Jesus Christ comes back.
In Isaiah, it says the mountains will sing and the trees will clap because there’s
something wrong with the earth is whole time. So well, you will say, “Well what does that
mean for me right now? Do we have to wait to die or be raptured or this time?” Well
through Jesus Christ, we can get a taste of heaven now. You can have communion with Jesus
daily. And eat the marriage feast. You can do it when you pray or read his word or have
devotion. You could even eat some bread, grape juice every morning, have communion, and just
remind yourself of what’s important. And Jesus Christ is the one. He will give us peace.
We’ll cover chapter 20. This is a thousand years reign, the millennium. It says one more
fellow that the Lord will take care of Verse 1, and I saw an angel coming down out of the
heavens. Heaven having the keys to the abyss and to holding in His hands a great chain,
he seized a dragon, the ancient serpent that is the devil or Satan and bound him for a
thousand years. He threw him into the abyss and locked and sealed it over Him to keep
him from deceiving the nations anymore until a thousand years were ended. And after that,
he must be set free for a short time. Now Satan is sealed separate from the lake of
fire. The abyss is different. Remember that the abyss is where the worst demons are. This
is where He’s putting Satan. This is not his final death; He’s still going to use
him. And this is interesting. One angel grabbed Satan. One unnamed angel takes him with one
hand and a chain in the other. You would think that there would be – a legion of angels
or Jesus himself is fascinated to me. Its shows we that God, Satan are not even close
to being equal.
And what about now and how does this apply to us? Satan is bound by an angel. And the
bible says that we are – we will judge them. So can we bind Satan? How do we bind the enemy?
Do we pray, “Satan we bound you in Jesus’ name”? Can Satan be bound be a believer?
But Jesus said in Matthew 16, blessed are you Simon, son of Jonah, for this was not
revealed to you by man but by the Father in heaven. And I tell you Peter, and on this
rock, I will build my church, the gates of Hades will not overcome it. The rock is not
Peter; the rock is the believing in Jesus Christ. The gates don’t attack you; you
go through gates and saying that Satan’s not going to prevail. What are the gates in
your life that you stay away from or don’t try to conquer are the gates that you keep
open where you can conquer strongholds in your life. I think of a couple that are church
sponsors, they’re missionaries in South America. And they go into the deepest part
where witchcraft and different things are going on and they’re reaching people for
Christ. And they have two children. They’re going through gates, they put me to shame.
I’m afraid to let my daughter outside without keep an eye on. And this is He’s talking
about, go into the gates. Versus 19 of Matthew, I will give you the keys to the kingdom of
heaven whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatever you loose on
earth will be loosed in heaven. He warned his disciples not to tell you will
that he was the Christ.
This word binding, is the same phrase in Revelation chapter 20 with the angels by and singing,
“Because the enemy is bound, we can have more peace now.” In Matthew 12 we’ll dig
in deeper. With the Pharisees accused Jesus for being of Satan because he cast out demons.
But in verse 29 is the key, or again, how can anyone enter a strong man’s house and
carry off his possessions unless he first ties up a strong man, then he should rob his
house. Have you bound up the strong man? How do we do it? Do we say, “Satan we bind you
in Jesus’ name,”? People pray in Jesus’ name because He said, “When you pray, to
receive what your prayer.”
But within this, understand as if it’s in Jesus’ nature, you know, if you pray something
to happen bad to someone so it helps you, it’s not really praying in Jesus’ name.
But the question remains. How do we bind Satan? Or can we bind Satan? Now for every New Testament
scripture is an Old Testament picture. And this one is describing 2nd Kings Chapter 6.
And again I have to dig in deeper page, but to summarize the story, that the King of Assyria
wanted to attack the king of Israel. And the prophet Elijah said to him, “Be careful,
and don’t go that way because they got it surrounded, they’re going to ambush you.
This happened three times, yet the king of Assyria gets upset and says, “Whose leaking
information?” They said, it’s not us but it’s the prophet Elijah.” And the king
ordered that they went to Kasha. So they went there by night, surrounded this house, this
servant was afraid. And the prophet calmly said, “Don’t be afraid.” In verse 17,
Elijah prayed, “Oh Lord, open his eyes so he may see.” And the Lord opened the servant’s
eyes and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots the fire all around
Elijah. And 18, as the enemy came toward, Elijah prayed to the Lord, strike these people
with blindness so they shuttered with blindness as Elijah had asked.
Now the blind, he said, I’ll take you to the man you’re looking for because you’re
really weren’t looking for him; you wanted to destroy the king. And he leads his men
blind; he takes the blind to the capital city, right to the king. And the king says, “What
should I do? Should I kill them?” Elijah says, “No, don’t kill them.” If you’re
captured and in battle you wouldn’t do that. Bring them a feast, and that’s what he did,
he treated those good, not just a small, but big feast.
And he went back and he never came back again. What does that mean? Would they bind these
people in a different way? They did well. In Romans 12:20, it says “On the contrary:
If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing
this, you will heap burning coals on his head." Now back then, if your fire went out, it took
a look of effort to flint in wood to get your fire started again. This heap of burning coals,
you would go to a friend and put it in a pot. And the women carried them on their head and
they will also relight their fire. And they just saved that person a lot of work. That’s
what this scripture is talking about.
And in verse 21 in Romans, it says, “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil
with good.” This mean binding Satan, it’s not in the phrase, it is doing good. You overcome
evil with good. When you do this, Satan is bound. We say nice things; stop gossiping,
making cutting remarks, instead encourage and bless people, but don’t expect it. Satan
in evil and rotten, if all we see is good, he runs away, overcome evil with good, and
this is how you can taste pardon in the millennium. Does this mean if you’re not doing good
that Satan’s not going to start to attack you? Now we know that Satan is called the
accuser, but this verse 2nd Corinthians 10:3-5, might explain what goes on, first we are human,
but we do not wave war as humans do. We use Gods mighty weapons, not world weapons to
knock down the strong holds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments.
We destroy every proud obstacle, like these people from knowing God, we casted their rebellious
swords and teach them to obey Christ. The bible says, “By the goodness of God, the
people are saved.”
