IEM Cologne has just come to an end. I am here with one of its champions, Darien. Evgeny, I want to congratulate you with this victory. This is your second victory this season. How do you feel right now?
Darien: I am happy that we managed to end our losing streak against Fnatic. I am proud of my team.
Second victory that you scored at IEM this year, fifth overall. Do you feel an additional thrill from winning at this event?
Darien: Winning is always great. I would love to have one more win this season, at S3WC, but winning at IEM for the fifth time ain't that bad.
Throughout this season you have primarily played on beefy champions, like Renekton and Shen. Here you showed us your Lissandra and Aatrox. But when you tried playing on damage oriented champions, like Jayce and Vladimir, you didn't do so well. How would you explain it?
Darien: I won't reveal this mystery about me quite often playing poorly on carry champions, but I can say that, when I am playing on a tanky champion or an AP champion, when our team lacks AP damage, we are doing way better compared to situations, when I am playing other roles.
In a couple of days from now you and your team are heading to China. You won't play any official games, but you will dedicate time to your fans and have fun. What are your expectation of this trip?
Darien: I hope that apart from working, we will manage to go sightseeing, relax and taste Chinese food. It will be my second attempt to try Chinese food and to appreciate it at its full value.
After China you are heading to the US. You are going to play your last official match this year against XDG, again. Are we going to witness this kind of Gambit? Are you going to approach this tournament seriously, considering that you are going to play only one single match.
Darien: It is frustrating that we are playing only one single match. We will spend almost an entire day travelling to play for three hours, but, what can I say, we are going there to win.
Unlike other four members of Gambit, who have already started to interact with fans and to stream, you are not doing it yet. So many people are begging, almost on their knees. When are you going to stream and get involved in social media?
Darien: I can say that it's not a dream. I am thinking about it and most likely I will launch my stream after I return from China.
We are going to wait for this to occur impatiently. How do you relate to the attention from fans? They create amusing videos that gather up to one million views. They create online communities, where they share your thoughts.
Darien: The group that posts my thoughts is a really good group, since my thoughts are sharp. Guys, you should listen and search for underlying themes. I don't convey my thoughts directly. Spending time with fans is always great, but quite frequently we spend almost the entire day training, therefore we lack time to talk with you on Facebook, Vkontakte or elsewhere. We prefer to spend our time primarily on practicing in order to perform as best as we can. Whenever I have the time, I will come up with something. I will share something interesting at least while streaming.
Since you said that you are a well of wisdom, share one of your smart thoughts with our viewers.
Darien: There are so many of them, so it is hard for me to pick one that is appropriate in this situation, but I will come up with something right now.
Well, if you cannot come up with something right now, maybe you can say something to your fans, friends and relatives to conclude this interview?
Darien: I am still thinking. In order to come up with a good thought, you have to spend some time thinking.
Dear friends, think and maybe one day you will become IEM champions as well. It was Darien, Gambit's solo top player. Thank you for following our coverage!
