Hello! I am Luke Kneller and welcome to Best Replays of the Week!
In this episode we have indestructible Japanese heavy tanks,
a dauntless defender and a very quick footed sniper. Enjoy the show!
First up we have 5had0w from the EU region in the Japanese Type 4 Heavy.
The super-heavy tank is a tough nut to crack,
but this tier X battle in the Arctic Region will test it to the limit.
Shadow takes the 160 ton monster south, and opens up with the 14 cm cannon.
That’s quite a serious gun, but what’s really impressive is the thickness of the frontal armour.
The enemies manage to penetrate the armour once or twice,
but in general this rolling bunker just tanks everything thrown at it giving back as good as it gets.
This is where it gets tricky.
Shadow dives into the melee, angling the hull to keep the Type alive as shells come from all sides.
The E-100 helps out, and it’s only proper to return the favour.
A second shot takes the Maus out of the picture for good.
The game has been decided now, and the teammates easily pick off the remaining stragglers.
Victory!
That is a thick skinned and hard hitting tank,
but it was Shadow’s driving skill that carried the day.
Well played, Steel Wall! Enjoy your gold.
In general snipers go for large calibre guns with lots of stopping power,
but there are some advantages to lighter gear.
_LEKE_ from the EU region prefers the Spähpanzer Ru 251, and the results speak for themselves.
The hunting ground is Swamp, and the enemy team is full of tier X targets.
Leke sprints to a firing position and starts pumping rounds into the distant enemies.
A fierce T30 becomes the first catch of the day.
There are quite a few targets here. No kills this time, but a lot of damage is dealt.
Leke heads back north, and runs straight into a Jagdtiger.
Quick thinking and an agile tank are the sniper’s best friends here.
Shoot out the track and even the biggest TD is helpless.
The next target is a T-62A engaging some friendlies.
It’s a tough opponent, but from this angle it’s at the sniper’s mercy.
The enemies are down to a single tank,
so Leke picks an elevated firing position and ends the match in style.
Victory!
Good tactics and accurate shooting. The Sniper’s award is well deserved.
Next it’s time for Moumajimuri_RITAI_Kiro from the North American region to guard the home base as a Defender.
The map is Malinovka, and Moumajimuri starts the game with an incredible shot on the move.
That should teach the enemy scout to keep its distance.
The Object takes the vanguard position on guarding the hill,
dealing damage to several enemies and knocking out a 13 90.
The defenders at home base are calling for help,
so Moumajimuri turns around and races back.
It proves to be the right call as the enemies are coming in hard.
APCR just pings off a type 4,
but an accurate shot with a heat round finishes off a tier ten Jagdpanzer.
Moumajimuri drives closer, but it takes an incredible amount of HEAT shells to finally bring the Type 4 down.
It’s almost pointless to fire on the Maus at this range.
Luckily the machines on the hill are made from softer stuff.
It’s five against nine now, and the Object is the last tier ten standing.
The remaining team members form up to defend the capture zone with the Object as the tip of the spear.
Moumajimuri knocks out a tank,
then another one.
The enemies lead is reduced to one, but a better position is needed to win this fight.
Here’s a chance to take out the conqueror.
Great! And a chance to hurt the Maus as well.
The tank is down to just seven shells, and those two HE rounds have the arty’s name written on them.
It turns out only one is needed since the last ally decides to tag along.
Now for the final challenge.
There’s a Maus in the circle, and the Defender has less than 500 hitpoints and a handful of shells.
The capture is at 85, and Moumajimuri was spotted on approach.
Careful aim - and a shot which bounces at 93%...
The Maus disappears behind the bushes, but the shell strikes true in an un-eyed reset.
Excellent!
Now there’s time, but the Maus has a lot of health and there are only four shells left.
The first one punches through, as does one from the ally,
but the Maus delivers a return shot which almost ends the Defender’s run.
The match time is nearly over, and it would be a shame to see this end in a draw.
Moumajimuri strikes through the armour, and follows up with a killing blow literally on the last second of the match.
Nice!
Excellent work, defender. Very much in the spirit of the award, and just well played overall.
Next up is axiks, a combat scout from the EU region wreaking havoc in the Walker Bulldog.
Starting from the north spawn on Sand River, Axi races to an ambush position,
and opens up with the 76mm autoloader.
One minute into the match an enemy heavy tank is dead and another one badly damaged.
The damaged enemy is hard to get at so the killer scout goes looking for other victims.
This will do nicely.
Axi seems right at home in a target-rich environment.
The reload is spent looking for a target.
A T-34-85 is found and gunned down as soon as the tank is ready to fire.
Axiks took a few shells there,
but rather than withdraw the Bulldog goes hunting for the offending heavy tanks.
First the Tiger,
then the T34 gets demolished by the fierce scout.
Another reload and the Bulldog pounces on an IS-3.
A shell from a hellcat forces the Scout into cover for a while,
but Axi holds a grudge and gets revenge on the hellcat a while later.
There would still be a shell loaded for the last enemy, but an ally is faster on the trigger.
Victory!
Wow! That was fearless combat scouting with excellent results. Congratulations!
In the last replay we have an encounter battle on Redshire
as Bretac from the EU region decides to test the carrying capacity of the O-I.
This thing looks even stranger than the Type 4 from the first replay,
and it seems like it can barely move its bulk.
The cannon seems to work fine, however.
The enemy force in the Eastern choke point includes a Tiger I,
the only tier VII heavy in the match.
Bretac doesn’t seem too impressed as the clumsy looking O-I tears the enemies to shreds.
Climbing this slope would have been hard enough without getting sandwiched between tank destroyers.
Bretac takes out the SU, and an ally finishes off the Hellcat before it can do more damage.
It looks like that friendly TD is the only ally left.
The situation seems so one-sided that the enemies abandon their capture.
The first kill-hungry opponent charges in and dies,
but the poor ally follows it to the garage before the next shell is even loaded.
The badly damaged O-I is alone, against five enemies.
Three enemies show up, but as long as they trade shots at range like this the O-I can deal with them.
One down – four to go,
but an enemy charges over the hill and gets behind the lumbering heavy.
Bretac has to focus on the larger enemies and the light tank is free to do its worst.
Which, it turns out, is not very much.
The Crusader fights furiously, but without causing any actual damage.
The O-I on the other hand punches out the enemies one by one.
The heavy turns to crush the Crusader, and the light tank goes for a desperate ram.
It actually works! The behemoth’s track breaks and the light is too close to kill!
The last serious enemy comes over the hill and Bretac blows it up before it can fire a shot.
The Crusader keeps up the cat and mouse game for a while, but the end is inevitable.
Victory for the carry!
That’s definitely a crucial contribution, but you can’t help but feel a little for the Crusader, too.
Congratulations Bretac! You are the Crucial Contributor of the week!
That’s it for this episode.
Please, leave your comments below, and keep sending us your replays.
Fortune and glory come to those who dare.
Thanks for watching. I’m Luke Kneller, and I’ll see you next time.
