Hi, this is Joelle Meijer. I am going to show you how you can make a stain glass
effect for Christmas using tissue paper. Start by drawing the desired shape on a sheet
of black construction paper with a pencil. For this project, I decided to draw the
shape of a simplified fir tree. Then, with an x-acto knife, cut the four sections
of the tree, that is the trunk and branches on one hand and then the base of the tree
and the star on the other. Cut a piece of brown tissue paper and put some white glue
around the trunk and place the brown tissue paper to cover the hole. Then use the
yellow tissue paper to represent the star on top of the tree. Put white glue around
the outline of the star and place the tissue paper in place. To represent the base
of the tree, I chose to use red tissue paper and I proceeded in the same way as for
the star and the trunk. Finally, take the green tissue paper, put a bit of white glue
around the area of the branches and place green tissue paper to cover the hole.
Let the white glue dry. Use adhesive tape and place the project on a window pane
to highlight the stained glass effect. There are all kind of designs that you can
make for Christmas. I would suggest that you draw your designs on heavy cardboard
(recycled cereal boxes for example) and keep them as templates that you can use
year after year. To access a free document with illustrated instructions, several
