Today we will prepare Raw Banana Fried Curry.
This is a very delicious recipe.
You'll surely like it.
So let's get started!
The Ingredients are :
Raw Banana (Kachhe Kele) - 4 (500 grams),
Gram Flour (Besan) - 1/4 cup (2 or 3 tbsp),
Curd - 2 tbsp,
Ginger - 1/2 tsp paste or 1/2 inch grated,
Salt - 1/2 tsp,
Red Chili Powder - 1/4 tsp.
These were the ingredients required to marinate the raw banana pieces.
The following ingredients are needed for gravy :
Tomatoes - 3 (200 grams) & Green Chilies -2(make paste from them),
Curd - 1/2 cup,
Cream - 1/2 cup,
Coriander Leaves - 2 or 3 tbsp,
Asafetida - 1 pinch,
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp,
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp,
Salt - 1 tsp or according to taste,
Coriander Powder - 1 tsp,
Red Chili Powder - 1/4 tsp,
Garam Masala - 1/4 tsp,
Oil for Frying Banana pieces & Gravy.
For making the Raw Banana Fried Curry,
first of all we will chop the bananas and marinate them.
So let us chop the bananas.
First we’ll peel them like this, peel off the thick
i.e. the green part; we’ll peel the bananas like this
and will chop them into ½ inch thick, circular pieces.
We’ve chopped the bananas, now we'll marinate them.
For this we'll take a bowl & add curd, Gram Flour,
Ginger paste, Red chili powder & Salt to it & then mix them well.
Now we'll add the banana pieces into it
& mix them well so that the spices get coated on the banana pieces.
The spices have been coated on the bananas.
Now we'll keep it for aside for 10-15 minutes so that the spices can get absorbed.
After that we'll fry them and prepare curry.
So we’ll cover the bowl and keep it aside for 20 minutes.
20 minutes have gone by
and the spices have been absorbed in the banana pieces.
Now we'll fry them.
So let us heat the oil first.
The oil has been heated and now we’ll fry these pieces.
We'll check the oil by putting a single piece of Banana into the oil.
The oil is hot enough it seems.
Now we’ll add as many banana pieces the cauldron can accommodate.
We’ve added the pieces to the cauldron
and we’ll flip and fry them until they turn golden brown.
The pieces have become brown, we’ll strain them out.
We'll put all the rest of the pieces to the oil.
They all are golden brown now strain them out as well.
Turn off the flame now.
We’ve fried all the banana pieces.
Now we'll prepare the gravy.
For this we'll take another pan & put 2 tbsp oil to them & let it heat.
Now oil is hot.
We'll add cumin seeds, asafetida, turmeric powder, coriander powder into it
& fry it a little.
Now we'll add tomato - green chili paste into it & we'll also add red chili powder
& fry them until the oil begins to float on the top of the spices.
Oil has begun separating from the spices,
now we'll add cream to it
& stir it continuously till the oil gets entirely separated from the spices.
We'll keep the flame high & stir it continuously after addend the cream.
We need to stir the spices continuously till it boils well.
If we won't do this then the cream may get spoiled.
Spices are now boiling, now we’ll add curd into it.
We'll continuously stir it after adding the curd into it,
till it has fried well.
We're preparing this gravy by adding tomato, cream & curd.
We can also prepare the gravy only with tomatoes
or with onion – tomatoes or with curd only or with cream - tomatoes
or also with Dry fruits after soaking, grinding & frying them
we can also make gravy with coconuts and also make with sesame & peanuts
So we can prepare the gravy according to our choice with various ingredients.

If you're making gravy with curd & tomatoes
and not adding cream to it then gravy prepared may become sour sometimes.
This happens because curd & tomatoes both are sour
if both of them are sour then gravy prepared will be sour
So when we prepare gravy with curd & tomatoes then we take fresh curd
Then gravy won't become sour it'll be good
If we've sour curd then we'll add fresh cream to neutralize the effect of sourness
And gravy we'll be very tasty
Now oil is getting separated from spices
Our spices are ready now
Now we pour 1 cup of water to it
And cook it by stirring it continuously to boil
We'll put 1/2 cup of water more
Gravy can be prepared thick or diluted according to our choices.
We'll add Garam masala to it
Add some green coriander leaves to it
Gravy has boiled
now we’ll add fried bananas to the gravy
mix them
add salt
Add salt at last to the gravies like Curd & cream
If we add salt before hand, then the gravy may get spoiled.
Now we’ll cover the gravy & let it to cook for 3-4 minutes at low flame
so that Banana pieces can absorb the spices
We've cooked it for 3 - 4 minutes
now it's ready
now we'll transfer the gravy into a vessel
Let's turn off the gas
Now the curry is ready
it's very nice
Garnish it with some green coriander leaves
RAW BANANA FRIED CURRY can be served with
Chapatti, Nan, Parathe or Rice
This much curry is enough for 4 -5 family members
For this "RAW BANANA FRIED CURRY "
We marinated the Banana pieces
and deep fried it
after then prepared by putting it into the curry
If you don't like more oil
then you can bake the marinated Bananas in the oven
by putting some oil to the tray & spreading the Banana pieces onto it
preheat the oven at 220 c & set for 10 minutes
keep the tray in the oven
& check it after 10 minutes
If Banana pieces are brown
then they’re ready
if they’re not brown then use some more time
& bake them till they turn brown
then the curry can be prepared in the same way
with the baked Banana pieces
