So this painting is made by Claude Monet at the Passway in Giverny, in 1902. He was the
so called founder of the impressionist movement. It's true in a way because the impressionist
movement got its name, from his painting. They had their first exhibition in 1873. And
he exhibited the painting with the title, Sunrise impression. And a journalist gave,
for the whole group. This name, after this painting. And impressionism was really big
movement at the, began in the seventies, of the nineteenth century. But each participant
were, had their own style. And own way, such as Monet, as well. This painting is a late
work of him. When he was already living in Giverny. What we can see in the painting,
is the floral garden which he painted, extremely lot there. And there he made a lake, an artificial
lake, as well. So made his series about water lilies and so on. And the method of the impressionism.
And especially, of Monet was, had it's origin in the painting method of Delacroix. The divisionism
was used by him. And not only this idea but as well, the reflections in the shadow. So
it means that the shadow of any object, when any person is painting. Is not black. Rather
the reflection, we can see in complimentary colors. And the other difference is, that
it's always said that the impressionists were the first painters who painted in the green,
in the free. And it was especially true for Monet. Who for example, about this Passway,
made an extremely lot of paintings. Which means, in the same time he had done ten or
fifteen canvases. And after, he collected them in his studio. Because he saw that painting
in the nature, his equivalent painting in the studio. And that's why it's also important
about these paintings. That although, he painted most of the paintings in the nature. He finished
them or finalized them in the studio. To have a series of these paintings.
