[female voice] Hi. Welcome to Week 10
So this week we are doing a reflective journal on our management
experts. There's two experts to choose from
Rudolph Dreikers is the first one... he was a
psychiatrist, and he was also a teacher and his major thing about classroom management
how to manage and
be a successful
teacher was all about the defiant students lacking a sense of belonging
in a social group
and he
focuses on something called the democratic teaching model, which focuses
on trying to...
it's like a problem solving approach to classroom management
and also this idea of giving students a chance to succeed with
logical consequences for discipline.
The second person is Haim Ginott
and he is all about depersonalizing criticism;
focusing on specific situations instead generalizations;
and giving students choices within boundaries and he thinks when you give
students choices you empower them. Good quotes from both of them; they're both
very good
experts in the field of classroom management and
the psychology behind misbehaving students. And hopefully you find one
of them that fits with your style of teaching and I look forward to
seeing what you come up with!
Have a good week!
