Now you might be asking, how do you actually take care of and work on a child? Well I'll
tell you it's very similar to working on an adult but obviously we don't use the same
force that we would on an infant or a child as we would say a professional football player.
A lot of times we actually use a pinkie contact with just a very slight pressure to actually
aid us in moving these bones and getting the pressure taken off of the nervous system.
Some of the conditions that are actually helped with when we are talking about children and
chiropractic are things like ear infections, which respond very nicely to chiropractic
care. Also colic, several studies have now shown how colic can be immensely improved
while undergoing chiropractic care. And allergies and digestive troubles and all kinds of other
things are also helped with chiropractic care. I want to tell you real quickly about a study
that was done in nineteen eighty nine. They did a study comparing the households of chiropractic
children versus the households of a pediatric family. And what they were looking for, they
wanted to see which household potentially was more healthy compared to the other one.
What they did was they polled two hundred pediatricians and they also polled two hundred
doctors of chiropractic and what they found was that chiropractic children had fewer ear
infections then those of the pediatric group. In fact only twenty percent of the two hundred
that were polled reported experiencing ear infections, where as sixty nine percent of
those polled in the pediatric group reported having ear infections. Now I don't know about
you but it seems like the chiropractic household maybe was a little bit more healthy than that
of their pediatrician counterparts.
