It's our 35th anniversary. And uh, we're the industry. While we have a lot of tastes which
our restaurateurs participate, this is one where they raise money for the culinary arts.
And these are scholarships for our future; for our future entrepreneurs, for our future
chefs and our future working force. As competitive as we are, we unify under scholarships and
education.
If you're in the restaurant association, we're giving scholarships to the kids uh, that,
er, that are directly enrolled with the restaurants. So if you work in the restaurant, your child
can actually go culinary arts and all that good stuff. It's, it's a very neat, opportunity
for these kids to be able to further their education. It's an incredible event just because
of how many people showed up with the kids area, and all these restaurants coming together
to do the scholarship foundation. It's just absolutely incredible.
We've got quite a few people here. We have, uh, over about 25, 26 restaurants inside.
Plus we have the VIP section with Tanji Patton. We're trying to have a little more family
friendly. We've got a kids section. As you can see a lot of people from all sides of
town, so it's a good event. This is a great event. It's fun to come out
in one place and get to taste some of San Antonio's best restaurants, the chefs are
here, and some wonderful beer and wine and there is water too. It's for an incredible
cause, you know, we've got different sources now in San Antonio where students interested
in getting into the culinary fields can do that. Having the CIA located in San Antonio
is huge in and of itself. Well, it's a lot of fun here. We got lots
of food, we got wine beer, a lot of great food. There's a lot of restaurants I haven't
tried out here today. So, yeah, the restaurants are putting their best foot forward, putting
out some really good food, and hopefully people come to see our restaurants, come visit our
restaurants. So, we were approached um, by Los Barrios
and they asked us if we could participate in this event. Where restaurants could come
and show their stuff, show their favorite dishes and just get a big um, you know, reach
out to the public to get them more involved. We are the largest employer of 16 year old
to 24 year olds. So, this is a great venue for the people to come out and see how vibrant
our industry is. You know, we're just really proud to be part
of this industry and such a big part of it. And, you know, we just, we just feel really
blessed to be here today and uh, the food is so fabulous.
I want to thank everybody for coming out and supporting us because we are the industry
and we will do, we do a great job here in San Antonio.
