Now -- accurate fat and fair
This is news 5 at ten. A Cone Zone alert
for you the slowdowns are starting on one of Colorado Springs' busiest
east-west corridors construction is underway on Austin bluffs Parkway
between North Nevada Avenue and Old Farm Road and it's going to last for the next
year and a half
Workers will widen that entire stretch from four lanes to six
to help reduce congestion and improve traffic flow
Until then, be ready for hassles and delays especially
around rush hour -- so pack your patience. For now crews are rushing to finish the
section by UCCS
before school starts in about five weeks. "We're so pleased that the contractors are
working with us to try and get some other more impactful work done
between now and august 20th which is move-in day for freshman"
the entire project is slated to cost $22 million dollars and it's scheduled to last
through December of 2014
