Hi! Uhmn... I want to talk a little bit about what an ATC is and what an ACEO is, and share
some of the art I have. Uhmn I have a little binder. This I got from a retail store that
actually comes... the pages are... permanently attached. And you can also get baseball card
inserts, and get a binder, and keep your art-cards in that. I just like this because this just
feels more like a portfolio.., like in my hands. It's an aesthetic thing, well... But
first what an ATC is: A.T.C. is an acronym for "Artist" Trading" "Cards". An artist trading
card is a baseball card sized card , it should be about 3.5 by 2.5 (inches) (or turn it on
it's side or whatever). What these are, are little pieces of artwork that are just that
size. Little, tiny, originals and an artist will swap them with another artist. *grins*
So if you know an artist that's doing swaps currently, and you love their artwork - Technically
it's "free art", but technically you have to work for it. Soooooo.... Yeah. *chuckles*
I have a bunch of cards that I have created that I have prints of, reproductions of, that
are for sale. Those are what are called A.C.E.O.'s. "Art Cards Editions and Originals" and instead
of trading with another artist you're selling them either to an artist, or a musician, or
whoever. You're not getting anything back for it other then money. So, it's not technically
an A.T.C. T stands for trade. TRADE. And people will go into some swaps that are like 3/3
swaps. Create three cards, send them in, and you get three cards.
Som artists (swappers / collectors) what they do is they take these cards from an artist
and they can put them up for sale, individually - or they can trade them with another artist
(swapper/collector) for something else that in case they want to complete a collection
by another artist. So one of the most important things that they do is, on the back - you
put your information.
Copyright which is a good one, as they ARE originals and are technically Copywritten
to you, so I would put that information on them. The title of the piece, what swap they
are from, whatever contact information you want to put on it. You know, that kind of
stuff is important to put on them.
This one's called, "Hidden in the Mists". It was created on May 18th 2012. It's made
with ink and colored pencils. Putting your medium on the back, is actually a good option.
ACEO-ATC May-June Open Swap themed Dragons.
But this is an example. RAAWRGH.
I want to show you
the ones, this is cool. This person here... This was done for an art group on Facebook.
This was a 3 by 3 trade of stamps of people's faces. I couldn't get any people's faces so
I used something else. And on the back of this one... the back of this one.., is a business
card. Since business cards are like close to the size of , maybe a little smaller then
a, baseball card. Who'd thunk?
These are my top favorites. These were done by "Holly Ann" - she's also in the SCA so
these are actual artwork style that she does for doing scrolls and what not. This is an
old medieval style. I love it! Yeah. That's Gold Leaf (OMG the skillz!)
(Shiny huh?)
Purrty!
The ones that I sent to her, do not compare to these. Like I am so blessed to have these.
These are awesome! And down here is another trade I did with someone else. I traded...
I think we did "Endangered Animals" swap.
This was an Famous Artist Swap. These were pictures of famous artists and created artwork
out of them. Pretty cool.
(kid in the back ground)
(me telling him basically to go to bed)
Fish Swap.
This is a swap that I hosted. (talking to my child) This here was a Steampunk Baby Animals.
The one I showed you before, the Stamp Swap. Another 3 by 3 swap.
Flower Swap. This was a monthly. Every month on the Facebook group does a monthly swap,
where - like it's a different kind of swap. Where it's not exactly a swap. It's more like
a lotto. Which is AMAZING. Depending on how many people actually enter it will depend
on how many cards you get. But you send in a card to potentially get many cards. Like
a lotto.
So, it's not exactly a trade-off, per say. However your card goes to the person who was
the last winner. So the last winner hosts the next swap, and they get one card. Then
whoever wins gets all the cards from the swap. Then they create one, and then they post it
and send their card to the previous host.
Yeah. That's how it works.
I happen to won the flower one. That was cool.
The Dragon Swap.
Random Card Swap (for people with cards that wanted to swap, already made). This was the
Random Card Swap. It was for duplicates or whatever and I sent in four, and I got four.
Empty Pages!
I need more CARDS!!
Let me show you some of mine.
Original Watercolor (it's on my personal FB profile timeline as the cover art).
What I did with these is I made is I made and printed out a whole bunch of these. Now
I got to actually trim this down to proper size. This is pretty big. Actually, no, these
are the original inks. The cards were a little too big. So I scanned them in and shrunk them
down.
This is another watercolor and color pencil. Yeah watercolor and color pencil.
This is a hybrid. This is a photoshop'd / Photoedit with paint and ink, and that is actually a
hand drawn raven in there. So it's both a print out as well as original together.
These are prints, of a piece of artwork I made (for Sketch Fest!)
Watercolor.
(Color)pencils.
Angry Sheep!
So yeah. Those are the ones that I have. Yeah.
