Hong Kong's media recently broke the news that the anti-Occupy Central crackdown against protesters had been plotted by Group 9 of the State Security, who is in charge of Hong Kong's affairs.
The group allegedly spends over 10-million yuan a day to employ Hong Kong's various triad members.
The liaison office of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong's Special Administrative Region has not yet come forward to refute the allegations.
Hong Kong's Apple Daily quoted an informed source, saying National Security's Group 9 was behind Anti-Occupy Central which used violence against the peaceful protesters; Group 9 has offices in the Liaison Office.
National Security had contacted many Hong Kong triads and paid them to make trouble, the source told Apple Daily.
Among the triads, Wo Shing Wo has been the most active in recent events; Kwok Wing-hung and another member were involved with Wo Shing Wo in the “Dinner Party” scandal with Leung Chun Ying's campaign team.
The source also revealed that involved leaders get paid a stability maintenance of 200-300 thousand yuan a day.
Those who pretend to be either for or against Occupy Central and mingle with activists are paid according to the activity;
holding up anti-Occupy Central banners earns 1,000 yuan for every 3 hours, shouting slogans earns 2,000 yuan for 3 hours, acting violently while wearing yellow or blue ribbons earns 5,000 yuan/day, getting media attention earns 10,000 yuan.
Last Friday and Saturday, at least 2,000 triad members had participated in Causeway Bay and Mong Kok, making the daily fee at least 10-million yuan, said the source.
Sin Chung-kai, Hong Kong Legislative Council member:“Until today they have not refuted Apple Daily's allegations.”
“The Hong Kong people absolutely do not accept that the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) central government uses triads through the Liaison Office to stir up fights.”
“Hong Kong's chief executive is following the CCP's orders; in this most difficult time and those people occupying central do not want to withdraw and are unwilling to bow to evil.”
“The Liaison Office's interfering in Hong Kong's affairs by using triads is definitely not allowed."
Wei Jingsheng, former leader, 1989 Tiananmen movement, and democracy activist in the U.S.: "They have been using this old trick for decades—overseas, they hire people to beat pro-democracy activists in China Town.”
“I guess they would use this trick in Hong Kong eventually, stirring up trouble and then using it as an excuse to clear up the fields and implement martial law.”
Apple Daily quoted Zhang Xiuxian, a Standing Committee member of the Federations of Students, saying that the event exposed the Liaison Office's intervention with Hong Kong.
“It's not only against the ‘One country, Two Systems’, rule, but it even intervenes in local affairs.”
Since Oct. 3, underworld members have severely beaten students, causing bloody conflicts that have led to at least 131 people being hospitalized.
They've even organized teams specifically to sexually assault female students; CCTV interviewed some key attackers.
One so-called protestor who posed against Occupy Central and who said that he would jump from a bridge, because the activities impacted his daughter from going to school, turned out to be a stuntman.
Another person against Occupy Central who promoted “police and student as one family” was found to be a cop.
Gangster violence has caused the loss of control and the police have issued a warning asking people involved in Occupy Central to leave, while repeatedly using pepper-spray to disperse protestors.
Soon after, Hong Kong Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying gave a speech on television, asking people to clear the sites.
Wei Jingsheng:“If the CCP conducts another round of killing like June 4, 1989, it would not be the same; I do not think the CCP is wise or kind, but it should prevent violence and intensification of contradictions if it is at all smart.”
Recently the public and media have found out that the police repeatedly released triad members who attacked protestors.
The public have questioned the police of teaming with thugs, however, the Security Bureau and the police have repeatedly denied the allegations, although the police management level have also reported their behavior to be unusual.
Zhang Xiuxian believes that the most important aspect of the Occupy Central movement now is not whether the police will clear the sites, but the personal safety of the participants; the police hold total responsibility in this regard.
