Hello, I was recently asked how to post to forums so I thought I might create a
movie for this in case someone else needs help for this in the future.
OK, to start off with, forum posts are done every week.
There are
two easy ways to get to the forums. The first way would be just to come up here to upper
left-hand corner and click on the forums. You wil see the icon for forms are the two
faces
facing each other.
Another way to get to the forum that you would need to post to is that you would go into the
week that you working on. Say you are working on week one and you need to
introduce yourself.
You can easily click on introduce yourself,
read everything and that is needed
in the forum,
I am just going to grab this text.
Then as you read everything we need to post in the forum,
you need to add your forum. So you click "add new forum discussion topic." Click on that.
You will say your name
or whatever is appropriate for the subject line.
Then you are type in everything that you want people to know about you in
that forum.
If you want to receive the emails
letting
you know when someone has replied to the forum, you can choose the subscription.
It's completely up to you.
And if you want to add any files, and you will be required to add files in the
future in some of the forums,
you can come, in select your file, and then included that file.
Then all you have to do is click "post to forum".
Once you've done this you're post will be available post everybody to read
and see.
You can clicked continue. It said successful
and then if you look down in the form post, you are going to see that your forum post
going to be the top. If you want to click on it you can read and seen everything
that is posted here.
You will not be able to edit your form postings because you don't have
teaching
credentials.
But, if you need to make a correction, all you would do is say 'reply' to
your form
and then you would say
these are my corrections... or whatever obviously that's appropriate.
And then go ahead (oops, let me get that down so you can see it) post to forum.
Once you have this is done,
you want to make sure reply to two people's forums. So you can
scroll back up to the top and go back here to where this
bird crumb trail is or breadcrumb trail
and click on introduce yourself. That's that forum we are in right now.
Then I might find somebody else that I would like to talk to.
And then I can just replied to her post.
Some thoughtful comments.
And continue on there. Once you have that are complete you have the
option
of getting replies
sent to you via email
and you can choose to upload a file
and then you can also post to the forum and that will include
everything that you've applied to that forum post. Those are your reply posts
and you want that done by Sunday.
Now if we click back here and the breadcrumb trail and go back to forums,
you can see that there are a lot of forums
and you can click on any forum that you need to
during the class as we work forward.
Hopefully this helps and answers questions but if you have any further questions
please be sure and contact me. Thanks.
