What are your sources of inspiration?
There is one word: curiosity.
I’m very fortunate to be curious.
In more concrete terms:
I’m inspired by looking forward, by innovation.
Creating something new.
New experiences.
Travel of course.
All culture: literature, art, modern dance, theatre, videos and film inspire me.
But then we also live in a harsh reality,
and for me this means a drawing-board, a hard chair,
being able to live in my inner space in balance, paper and a pencil.
I decide on a theme, I feel right now it’s trench coats, trench coats, trench coats
which I’ve always had in all my collections over the years in one way or another.
But sometimes I add a new twist.
Perhaps the shape changes, or I might start with a trench coat
and use it to create a jacket or trousers, or even a skirt.
Using the source of inspiration in an unexpected way, in line with the times.
In fact I’ve always built my entire career on the classics.
It may sound boring,
but I add new twists, update them and make them feel new and right.
