Hi.
I'm Kristy with Duck Brand Duct Tape.
Today, I'm showing you how to make duct tape crafts.
Now, I will show you how to make a duct tape book cover.
The materials you will need are your favorite color
of duct tape, your textbook, a brown paper bag, and scissors.
First step is to take your brown paper bag
and cut along one of the seams lengthwise.
From here, cut along all of the bottom of the seams to remove the bottom.
Lay your paper bag flat.
And we're going to measure our textbook to see how this fits.
So, put it straight in the middle.
And from here, fold the top and the bottom
to fit along the side of the textbook-- and place on top of the fold.
Bring one side up to fit the side of the book.
Fold this over and fit the folds into the side flap.
And make sure you can still close it as you fold,
so you leave enough of the paper.
And repeat on the other side.
You may need to trim off extra bag, according to how big your book is.
And I'm going to fold this side over, fit it into the flap.
And again, make sure as you go that you can still fold the book,
and it's a nice fit.
Now that your book is covered, it's time to protect it with some duct tape.
I'm choosing camo for this book-- camo color.
And just rip pieces lengthwise that fit the book
and put right on the brown paper bag.
You can fold over the edge here.
And continue to do this until you have the whole book covered.
Now that we've secured the book end, I'm going to remove the book to continue.
Once you have it almost completely finished,
put the book back on the cover and continue to tape.
Now that the book is completely covered, I'm going to take another color
and mark the spine.
Take it up lengthwise.
And I'm going to rip it, and you can also cut it in half to fit.
And place it along the spine of the book.
And you can cut off the ends or fold them through the middle.
You can also decorate your book cover with duct tape letters or other shapes,
as well as stickers.
And it's also very easy to write on duct tape with a permanent marker.
And that's how you make a duct tape book cover.
I hope these projects have inspired you to come up
with your own ideas on how to use duct tape.
Thanks for watching.
