With the official University of Texas SmartPhone App, visitors to the university can now take
self-guided tours of Landmarks, a public art program.
Landmarks was launched in 2008 with the purpose of developing a collection of
public art to enhance the beauty of our campus and encourage more visitors to the university.
Campus visitors can get up close with art of the highest quality and learn more about the individual
pieces on their SmartPhones.
Landmarks is made up of 28 sculptures on long-term loan from the Metropolitan Museum
of Art in New York City.
These sculptures provide a foundation upon which the university is building its own unique
collection. The University of Texas/Landmarks App is easy to use and informative.
When you open the App, you can use Google Maps to locate these sculptures around our main campus.Audio
tours, photos and artist info are also available on the App.
Landmarks projects serve as a powerful way to convey the university's identity, ideals and standards
of excellence, now and for future generations. For more information
