Welcome to JustEndlessGames, I'm your host Assorted Bits
and I'm going to provide you with a quick start on how to play Dungeon of the Endless.
This game is being developed by Amplitude Studios,
creators of the 4X space strategy game Endless Space,
and can be played while it's being developed.
The music is once again made by Fly By No.
This guide is made using Alpha build 0.1.1, hence it's quite possible that things change
in future releases.
But I'll try to keep you updated.
Dungeon of the Endless is a dungeon defence game where you have to haul a crystal throughout
a randomly generated level to it's exit.
Enemies will try to destroy this crystal and/or your heroes.
Therefore you have to clear and secure a path once you found the exit, while fighting off
waves of enemies.
In this alpha build, the available resources to accomplish this are:
Industry, which is needed to build modules in rooms,
Food: to level, heal or obtain new heroes
and Dust, the monetary resource in the Endless universe, which is needed to buy
things at merchants and to add room slots.
You start with two semi-random heroes. I suggest to explore the dungeon with the hero with
highest amount of attack, although speed could help as well.
It helps to check out which of your heroes has the highest amount of wit, since they
can boost resource production by placing them next to a generator.
When you open a door you'll see that a resource will be increased with the second number shown
at that particular resource.
If the new room is next to an already powered room or your space ship, and you have a free
slot available, you can power it up by clicking the middle mouse-button or scroll wheel,
or use your primary mouse-click while holding the left control button on your keyboard.
For most of you the primary mouse-button will be the left mouse-button.
For each ten dust you own you get a room slot.
So keep an eye on it when you encounter a merchant, since buying items might lower the
amount of available slots, which could lead to the shut-down of rooms and their modules.
Modules in the first tab will be installed on the big rectangular slots,
while most, if not all, other modules can be installed on smaller circular ones.
When you open rooms you can encounter enemies, module-blueprints,
items, resources, heroes for hire and merchants as well as one exit per level.
Ideally you're able to create an unbroken chain of powered and armed rooms once you've
found the exit.
If it isn't possible to create such a chain, shut down rooms which aren't on the shortest
route from the start to the exit and power up rooms which are.
Once you have secured your route or got as close to the exit as possible,
use your other heroes to fight off waves and waves of enemies who will try to destroy the
crystal and it's carrier.
Congratulations on beating your first level, or your brave but futile attempt to do so...
Thanks for watching, please subscribe if you haven't done so and let's build and explore
the Dungeon of the Endless together.
