JENNIFER HAMILTON: Actually, I had a lot of responsibility
with Zookeeper.
I mean, it wasn't the first one, but, you know--
it was a big one for me.
MARGUERITE DERRICKS: It was a big one for her because we
were juggling three or four things.
JENNIFER HAMILTON: Yeah, like three jobs.
I had to go to Boston and be there by myself and take care
of a lot of things that I hadn't before.
Marguerite really trusted me with that, and that made me
feel really good.
MARGUERITE DERRICKS: There's a big scene in the movie where
Leslie Bibb and Joe Rogan are at a wedding.
And for a wedding gift, they are gonna do this Paso Doble.
And Kevin James, who is with Rosario Dawson, he brings the
comedic side.
So Leslie and Joe are doing a real Paso Doble.
And then Kevin James is like, come on, and trying to mimic
the moves that they're doing.
And it becomes this whole comedic thing.
Jen spent a lot of time with Leslie.
She really wanted to work a lot.
She really took it seriously.
Very rarely do I use a double for any of my actors.
I mean, Tobey Maguire, I remember when we did
Spider-Man 3, there was no way that he wanted doubles to go.
So the whole dance evolved to fit him and what he could do
and what he wanted to do.
I'm really good with male comedians.
So with Kevin James in the movie, it wasn't about making
him Paso Doble correct.
It was about finding those really oddball moves that I
knew that he would go, yeah, that's where I want her to
jump on my back, and I want to drag her across the floor.
So with him, it didn't have to be there.
With Leslie, Jen made sure that she was
doing everything proper.
The camera really becomes like another
choreographer, another element.
It really takes your work and it just puts magic on it, if
it's done the right way.
JENNIFER HAMILTON: Marguerite is so gifted and such a genius
at making actors look good.
And I think that it's such a true talent because it's easy
for dancers to look good doing everything because that's what
we're trained to do.
So I think that I had to learn how to adapt movement quicker
and make it look a little bit more polished and
better on an actor.
We've really lucked out.
MARGUERITE DERRICKS: Yeah, we have.
JENNIFER HAMILTON: It's been really great.
MARGUERITE DERRICKS: Cool, cool actors.
And you get them at their most vulnerable selves because you
are there to take care of them.
So we get the real vulnerable side, which is so fun to meet
people that way.
