Hey guys! This is Heather form HealthyEatingstartsHere.com. Alright! So a few weeks ago Phil and I went
on a road trip to a ski village near where we live.
Now there’s no snow yet but you can still hike on this ski hill and it’s really really
pretty so we went up there. For those of you who know this area it was Mt. Tremblant in
Quebec.
And so we shot a little bit video when we went on top of the hill and I keep meaning
to show you guys the video but never since go along with any of my video so I thought
I would take you up to mention something that really really important but isn’t really
a healthy eating topic but it’s a healthy lifestyle topic.
And that is about getting activity into your today its really really important. I was just
hearing about a study that was done where breast cancer and colon cancer were reduced
by significant amount, I think like 20% to 30% when people didn’t sit all day.
So there’s a lot to talk about of exercise and getting a lot f exercise but this study
was looking at just sitting so even people who exercise like 30 – 40 an hour a day.
If they we’re sitting down on the rest of the day, the risk of getting cancer went up.
I’ll post a link to that article so that you can check out the details but regardless
of the actual numbers, I think it’s important to realize that there are a lot of implications
in terms of the health of your whole system and how it works together where if you’re
sitting for too much of the day it will catch up with you.
So I’ve been trying to get up, move around, get up from my computer every hour and so
and just make sure I’m getting some activity so you don’t have to go on a big hike like
we did at Mt. Tremblant.
But if you try to get some activity throughout your day even just get up and make some tea
or dance in the middle of the room or go get some water and check out what a friend is
doing on a different part of the room can all help.
So that’s my segway into this little clip from Mt. Tremble. Hope you enjoy.
