Within the report, we address a variety of areas. We address utility automation. We relate
to utility telecom. We even relate to cloud services and automation type solutions. What
we found from this report is that industry is recognizing that the synergy between the
availability of connectivity and the access to data, and the powerful analytics engines
that are available in the world, will allow for utilities to capture added value for their
clients and for their own corporations.
First and foremost, it's clear that the utility industry is very focused on improving the
automation functionality within their distribution grid and that's an improvement overtime and
an indication that that's where our clients believe they can get the most value from the
implementation of new and sophisticated tools on their network. The other encouraging part
of it is the rising interest in analytics as both a monitoring and diagnostic tool,
but also analytics as a tool to help utilities adapt to the planning, operation, and long
term growth of their network. Why I think this is important is most utilities are clearly
identifying that automation solutions are probably their greatest opportunity to capture
value, in both operational effectiveness, in reliability improvements, cost improvements,
and those kinds of things are being unlocked through opportunities to deploy automation
solutions. So this report will give the reader a lot of information about industry trends,
how they're useful, how they're going to benefit them as an operation in order to capture additional
value.
