I sing of weapons and a man who was the first
to come from the beaches of Troy to Italy
and the Lavinian shores, a fugitive by fate,
tossed much both on land and on the deep sea,
by the force of gods above
because of the mindful anger OF SAVAGE JUNO.
He suffered many things in war too, until he could found his city,
and bring gods to Latium, whence came the Latin race,
...the Alban fathers...
and THE WALLS OF HIGH ROME.
O Muse, remind me of the reasons,
with what aspect of her power slighted, or grieving over what,
did the queen of the gods force this man to undergo so many toils
to approach so many labors, this man who was marked by loyalty?
Is there such great anger
IN CELESTIAL MINDS?
