When making any kind of container, either to hold liquid or solid, it's very important
that the balance of the container be considered in actual use. Today we'll be making two different
types of handles on coffee cups or tea cups. And what has to be considered is how they
balance when they're filled with liquid. These handles are pulled from the cup and the other
handle is formed separate from the cup and attached at a later time. A negative space
is really critical and you want to make the space large enough so your hand or your fingers
fit comfortably in the handle and not so small that you might burn yourself with your hand
coming in contact with the hot surface of the coffee or tea within the cup. So those
elements are really important to consider when forming these handles.
