Now we're going to go ahead and start painting the background of the image because even though
the image is going to be set on the background you're still going to be able to see these
colors are going to play a part in the image as we'll see later, but we can go ahead and
start painting as well the actual board where the image is going to sit. I'll continue to
fill in the background. I'm going over the edge onto the frame to create a little bit
of an effect because of the 3D effect that we're looking for. So it kind of runs over
to the frame.
Even though we're mixing a lot of different colors and we're kind of putting a little
bit of a very artistic professional touch to it, but really this is a great activity
for kids as well. You don't have to worry about all these different shades. They can
just take regular colors and have it fit their image and they can have a lot of fun with
it because this activity involves a lot of different steps of painting, gluing and cutting.
So they can really have a good time with it. It's really not too difficult but at the same
time you can make it look like a really nice picture by putting a little bit of time and
creativity into it. Here I took some greens and I'm going to finish up the bottom of the
frame and have it look like some grass to fit in with the image that I'm using. Even
though we're filling in the entire background of the image we can still add colors once
we've glued the image to the picture frame, but all of the basic background or the major
parts of it should be completed, and any kind of touch-ups we still can do afterwards with
the colors. So this is basically what our background would look like and we tried to
make it as similar to the style of napkin that we're going to be using.
