We want to invite you to a special, fun event named Martha's Vineyard in the Valley.
You know a state on the East Coast named Massachusetts?
A long time ago 1600 to
1900, a lot of deaf people
from England came on a boat, settled and got married.
The area had a lot of deaf people.
The deaf signed as well as the hearing people.
Yes, that's right! Deaf and hearing, all together!
There was not two groups: the deaf who signed and the hearing who spoke,
everyone was together.
There is a really interesting information in a book called, "Everyone Here Spoke Sign Language."
