My name is Adam Gray and I studied the Masters in Health Care Management and Public Leadership.
HSMC has got a world-wide reputation so it was a really good place to study as someone
that wants to pursue a career in health care, so obviously there’s quite a lot of research
and stuff that we wouldn’t normally get exposed to, so coming here it’s a good opportunity
to meet the people that are doing the research and actually get taught by them as well. So
I think I learned a lot from bouncing my ideas off and against them I suppose, and also you
know, bringing the things that I’d learned in the NHS into you know, the classroom if
you like, and talking through things with them as well. It was a really good opportunity
to you know, speak to people that know their stuff. I think certainly the HSMC itself is
a really welcoming place. We came in just now and we were saying how friendly it was
and you know everyone. You know, certainly my tutor and I had a really good relationship
when I was doing my Masters, and you kind of do have that one on one relationship with
the people that you’re kind of, that are tutoring you. I think certainly in terms of
like the wider University as well, you know Birmingham is a great place to learn. Even
though it was a distance learning course, we still came up to Birmingham and you know
it was partly the people that were doing my Masters, we had a good experience of life
in Birmingham, you know, even if it was for a few days at a time. So yes, it is a really
good place to learn.
