Hi, I'm Fiona from Darlings Downunder We don't have a history of widespread use
of prefolds in Australia, so it can be a bit confusing when people talk about prefold cloth
nappies. So, what is a prefold?
This is a prefold. It's a type of flat ***, but it's several layers thick, with extra
layers in the centre third, usually. Unlike the old terry towelling square, it's smaller,
and quicker and easier to use. Despite its name, though, there is still some folding
involved. The most popular ways to fold a prefold are:
Just by folding it into thirds, like this, popping it into a cover, and then placing
it on the baby, making sure everything's tucked inside.
The other popular way for folding prefolds is called the 'Angel Wing Fold.' It starts
with it folded into thirds, with the back then fanned out. The centre's then brought
up between the baby's legs, the wings are brought around and fastened with a Snappi.
Then the cover goes over the top. If you've got any questions, please visit
