Hello, and welcome back again. I'd like to show you some other techniques that you can
use on the elliptical trainer. One of my favorites is using free weights. It's best to be used
with a spotter, so that if you get tired you can hand them back. Once you become experienced
on the machine as something that, this is might be something you'd like to add to your
routine; using the free weights on the machine is something that you want to incorporate
into your routine, and only use a few minutes at a time until you can build up your endurance.
Again, there is a safety issue, cause' you're not gripping on the machine or holding on,
so this is something that you need to do once you become much more experienced. But I'd
like to show you first how to do that. And a great way to start before you start working
with the free weights is just to start getting used to using the machine without holding
on at all. And you can do just sort of upper body arm exercises and movements, and range
of motion type things, again, to feel comfortable not holding onto the machine. This confidence
is something that will build as long as you keep using the machine on a regular basis.
Your balance and agility will become very clear when you're on the machine. So, now
I'd like to show you how to use the free weights, and it's just holding the weights out in front
of you. Form is very important. Bringing them to your side. Bringing them up above, and
doing this slowly. Especially at first, when you're just getting used to it. Then you get
up speed later.
This form will help you in your future for lifting everything. Heavy weights are not
necessary. Form is much more important. Thank you. We'll be right back.
