>> GREENTRACE: Welcome to Yiazmat Video Walkthrough.
Yiazmat is not actually a game, but it is the toughest enemy in FINAL FANTASY XII.
It took me about two and-a-half hours to beat it,
but that was several weeks ago, as I'm doing post-narration.
Holy crap, this is going by fast.
Okay, here's my equipment; might wanna pause, to see what it is.
You're going to need, um, well, you don't need it, but I recommend
two Masamunes; you get one from Gilgamesh; er, for beating him.
Montblanc gives it to you, that's right.
You get the other from the Bazaar; you gotta buy some stuff,
or sell some stuff... Yeah, great description.
The Tournesol's going to help; you get that from a whole lot of Bazaar goods.
It's gonna take you a while. Also, 600,000 gil, so I would suggest
you finish the Behemoth King mark; that gives you 500,000.
Here's my gambits; you're definitely going to need an Expose gambit
on the three people you start out with, because you need to use
Expose to lower his defense ten times, then start attacking him.
Because he has FIFTY MILLION HP, and that is a lot.
And if you can't do 9999s, then it's going to be a lot slower.
What else do I need to go over...
Pause if you need to see the gambits; uh, it looks
like I'm running through them pretty slowly.
Definitely wanna keep your buffs up. Put them up before you go in there.
Magepower Shishaks, because they give a good, uh... I think strength boost.
Maximillians, 'cause they're just, like, the best armor.
And here we go! Oh dear Lord, that thing is massive.
Probably the most annoying thing about this fight is that giant disc on its head.
Since you're going to be in front of it, that disc is going to obscure your vision
for pretty much the whole fight. Wow, that sucker is huge.
And there are traps EVERYWHERE, so put Float on.
But eventually you're going to run out of Float, so just...
hope that you don't run over anything.
And if you do, it probably won't do that much damage.
You can actually leave the fight whenever you want,
but if you're gone too long, he'll, like, cover himself in buffs
and refill some health. Which is not good,
because some health means several million.
Oh, boy.
Once you've got the Expose on him, take off the gambits and start wailing on him.
One of the best weapons for this fight is the Yagyu Darkblade;
it's ridiculously hard to find one, but I managed to get lucky.
In the, uh, Luhsu Mines, there's, um... where was that?
Uh, it's on one of the bridges before you fight the second part of Gilgamesh.
There's two Aeronite things, which are these giant
horrible flying monster things; I hate those.
But rarely, a Bombshell will spawn; it's like a blue bomb thing.
If you kill it, it will rarely drop a, um, the Yagyu Darkblade.
That is an 80-attack ninja sword with Dark element.
And Yiazmat is weak to Dark element,
So if you put on the Genji Gloves, like I did with Basch here, it's going to do
a lot of combos with a lot of 9999s. You see them all hacking away right there.
I got the two Masamunes on Vaan and Ashe.
Oh, boy. This fight was just crazy.
You're supposed to be able to do it in fifty minutes, but that's like...
...you gotta do some sort of crazy stuff, I just, this is just
to show you how to get through it, period.
Two and-a-half hours is actually a pretty good time.
It takes some people a lot longer than that.
Yeah, I had the whole video file of this, but it sorta
took up seven gigabytes [laughs], that wasn't very good.
So this is going to be a fifteen-part series,
because there's no way YouTube's going to hold a two-and-a-half hour clip [laughs].
Well, it probably could, but I don't have that kind of accountSHUT UP TRAIN.
Ohh.
Look at Basch just wailing on that guy.
Um, my characters are all level 99; I have pretty much everything in the game,
except for some of the weapons and equipments and stuff.
I have the Zodiac Spear, but I made an agreement not to use it.
'Cause let's just face it, the Zodiac spear is Oh... Man down.
The Zodiac Spear is just too uber.
It probably would have helped a lot here, but, you know.
I'm more hardcore than that.
Yiazmat doesn't have just one HP bar, it has fifty,
represented by the little dots underneath the bar.
Every time you take off about a million or so HP, you're going to take off a dot.
You think this is slow? Oh, wait till he gets down to 25 barths. Oh my god.
Barths? I think I said barths. That's not good.
So, the rest of these videos probably won't have much talking in them.
Because, really, there's not much to say.
It's just going to be me wailing away at him and him wailing away at us.
Oh dear God, here comes Cyclone. That's his special cinematic attack.
It does wind damage and, uh, I think it Stops.
No, it does Sap. It's White Breath that does Stop.
Yeah, I had about, uh, 99 Chronos Tears when I went in here...
I got Stopped by White Breath so much, I got down to eleven.
Yeah. So you better come with full items.
I think Remedies, if you have all the Lores, uh, get rid of Stop too, so...
If I would have ran out, I would have been okay.
So everybody's level 99; I have all the spells and technicks, all the espers.
License boards are all done. I have 28 out of the 30, um...
achievements in the Sky Pirate's Den; I still need the full bestiary
That's about it to Yiazmat, just keep wailing on him, stay alive.
Try not to use Renew; well, you can at the beginning, but
don't use it near the end, because...
around five million HP left, he's going to use Reflectga on you.
And if you cast Renew, you're going to be very, very angry, so don't do that.
At about ten bars, he'll use Growing Threat to double his level.
Yeah, so you wanna make sure you have Bubble Belts on.
Except for your main attacker, which is Basch in this case.
You wanna have Genji Gloves to up the combo rate.
And at about 25 HP bars, that's where this really slows down, because
he will cut your damage cap down from 9999 to 6999. Which makes this a lot slower.
See, it's only been, like, seven or eight minutes and I already got him
down two or three bars. That's how much Basch is doing right there.
White Breath hits in an arc, so if your party's spread out, it can sorta dodge it.
It causes Stop, so you wanna be careful.
Yeah, if everybody gets Stopped, you're pretty much sitting ducks, waiting to die.
So you better hope it wears off before you do die.
We've got Ashe spamming Curaja pretty much the whole time. Uh...
Basch is pretty much dedicated to attacking; I mean, he'll heal or
revive if he needs to, but his gambit's set so low for curing
that he hardly ever does it.
If you start to run out of MP on somebody, just use Syphon to
drain it off of your attacker, cause they'll probably have full MP.
Yeah, don't even try Yiazmat if you don't have all the augments,
because you're going to need the MP regeneration.
Keep your buffs up, but once it gets down to the wire you might
just wanna forget some of the buffs like Protectga,
because they'll waste time because you'll be dying so much.
Eventually he'll start using insta-kill moves...
Yeah, this is a really ugly fight. That's why there's a Video Walkthrough!
I'm trying to shift the camera as much as I can to keep 'em in the shot.
And there's Stop on two people. Chronos Tear gambit is pretty much essential.
Okay, we've got that Stop off us. Look at 'em just flailing.
I picked the two Masamunes because they have the highest combo rate.
I think it's, like, forty percent. Oh boy, here comes Cyclone again.
You can actually, um, halve the damage of Cyclone by equipping Windbreakers
on everybody, but I think I only have two of those.
I do equip them a couple times in this fight, but right afterwards
make sure to switch back to the Maximillians, because the Windbreakers
only have, like, fourteen defense. Which is not good in this situation,
not good at all. Eventually your Libra's going to wear off, and I'm pretty sure
it already did for me. And once your Float wears off,
you better get it back up quick if you don't wanna hit traps.
But eventually you're just going to have to give up,
and just hope you don't step on anything.
