I love going in the classroom and I am very, very
excited about my career, I mean,
I am dedicated to accounting I believe in what we're doing, and
that we are the score keepers, we do have to learn to do it right,
and I love working with the students, keeps me young. Mainly the junior level class
is what I teach. I'll teach the intermediate classes
and the second intermediate class probably is the most difficult class they
take because
most of the students are preparing to take the CPA exam
and a lot of this information is on that exam. Our classes have to be approved by
the Texas State Board.
If they are not approved by the Texas State Board, our students can't
sit for the CPA exam in the state of Texas. One thing about our faculty we're
all student oriented. We want our students to succeed. We just have a good department
altogether, all of us work together, not just accounting. One of the things my
students have commented on this the fact that it's really good to have someone
that's been out in the real world. This is the secret: when you go out and you're
working in the accounting field
a client's not going to come to you with something that's in that textbook and I'm going
open the textbook there's the answer. Oh yeah, and this is the solution.
You have to
understand the concept well enough to look at the alternatives and decide on which
one would be the best. Texas A&M University-Commerce is a very good place
for student a student to come to school. We do want our students to succeed and we do work
hard at that.
